    Wonderful Book!!!

I just finished reading this book. I absolutely loved it and plan on re-reading it. The author writes in a way that doesn't sound like many others that tell you what a failure you are. I would reccomend this book to any mother. It is a wonderful Christian book without overdoing it!

All of us Mommies (and Daddies) blow it sometimes

Thanks for reassuring me that there isn't a mother alive who hasn't regretted what she has said or done once in a while. This book addresses many of my own angry thoughts and screaming tirades when I'm just about at my wits' end with my 3 yeat old twins--(whom I truly love with all my heart). I don't discuss my feelings of guilt and failure as a perfect mother with anyone. The author's style is honest and comforting, while very informative- as she addresses these feelings. I highly recommend this book to most mothers. It is true to life, loaded with personal anecdotes, humor and compassion...it's like talking to a good friend who knows you very well. There is one caveat, this book has a Christian bent which may not be a good match for all mothers who are attracted by the title. Another book written exclusively for moms (and dads) of 2- to 5-year-olds that gives the same type of "verbal hug" to its readers is called "The Pocket Parent". The very first chapter is "Anger" and includes many anecdotes, and short bullets of information called "sanity savers" that do just that. In each chapter of this pocketsized A-Z compendium is a welcomed "Takeheart." They all start out like this..."Take heart, you're not the only parent who...(ie...blurts out the very things you had sworn to your mother you'd never say when you had kids!") Both books are loaded with humor, compassion and practical "how-to" advice that is now bringing more peace to our family and more cooperation from our kids. If you have young children like me, consider reading both extremely helpful books.

Anyone In A Caretaker's Role Should Read This Book!

This book makes excellent reading for anyone with children, stepchildren, or elderly parents! Management suggestions for handling anger, children, and one's self are given in an honest, humorous, Biblical, and visual way. Practical pointers, at the end of each chapter, and a list of resources and readings at the book's end will inrich the reader's life. This book is easily read, yet the author touches the reader on a deep, personal level! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is a mother, knows a mother, or had a mother! I can't wait for Julie Barnhill to write another book!

A Must Have For Any Mom

Julie Barnhill is an engaging new author, who's book on dealing with the frustrations all mom's face, will make you laugh, make you cry and make you think about the things we all do & say to our children. She gives an honest, open look into a subject that is seldom talked about and therefore, seldom dealt with. If you'd like down-to-earth suggestions for getting through child rearing, this is the book to read. She's Gonna Blow is an easy read and will make you feel like you are getting advice from a trusted friend. Julie tells many stories from her own life and you'll feel you are not alone after reading about her experiences. This book is a must have for any mother.
