"Shooting Star" by Fredrick McKissack Jr is abou
"Shooting Star" by Fredrick McKissack Jr is about a teen who's name is Jomo Rodgers. He is an above average football player who is having trouble with his size. He is small for the position he plays so his coach tells him to beef up over the off-season and to get committed to this sport. He starts his training and is seeing no results what so ever. He is very frustrated and wants to become bigger and faster in a short period of time. Jomo turns to steroids and starts to take them. Later on he starts to see results but becomes extremely violent. For example he gets into a fight and school and starts talking back to his uncle. One time his girlfriend and him were alone and he almost raped her. To find out more about Jomo and his steroid use you will have to read "Shooting Star" for yourself. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I personally loved this book. It has action and lot's of entertainment. One thing about this author is he uses a lot of curse words just like teens would in real life. This book is one that you want to keep reading until you finish it. I would recommend this book especially to athletes. This book can relate to athletes who think about steroid usage or who already use.
