    A Hilarious Book!

I can't remember the last time I read a book this funny. It's about a kid (Speedy) who's sidekick to Pumpkin Pete, a superhero who claims to have 'all the powers of a pumpkin.' Poor Speedy has to learn the ropes of being a superhero from a guy who likes to call him his 'little bulletproof shield.' It's a great satire on the whole world of superheroes and makes fun of all the stereotypes. It's a great book whether or not you read comics because it's a funny story that's fun to read and realy moves fast with action and plenty of jokes.

    I laughed 'til I cried!

This is one hilarious book! It pokes fun at all the old superhero stereotypes and adds a fresh, new twist to the world of superhero sidekicks. Pumpkin Pete, who has 'all the powers of a pumpkin,' makes life miserable for his young sidekick and the main character, Speedy. It's a great satire that pokes fun at the relationship between hero and sidekick and answers important questions like: 'Do they wear underwear under all that Spandex?' The sidekicks are a disfunctional group/family with members like Spelling Beatrice, Exact Change Kid and Boy in the Plastic Bubble Boy and Boom Boy (who has teh power to blow himself up, but only once). I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard at a book! And the best part is, you don't have to be a fan of superheroes or comic books to get the jokes or like this book. The characters and the story are so funny, anyone will love it!
