    Very Easy and Rewarding!

We got this as a christmas gift when our daughter was 3 months old. We started immeadiately with the 'milk' sign. At about 5 months she would recognize the milk sign and get excited because she knew what was coming. We 'fell off the wagon' a couple of months after that for a little while, until out of the blue she did the milk sign while she was having a bottle. She's a year old now and communicates with a number of signs, including: milk, more, eat, all done, and various signs we don't even really think about as signs such as waving bye, blowing kisses, etc. Also, as I was concerned about her speaking as well, I was pleased to notice that it has not at all impeded her vocal development...she chats up a storm, way more than any of the other kids her age she plays with and at a year old she can say: hi, bye, ma ma, da da, duck, up, hot, hop, night night, quack, moo, and more I can't even think of. This program is easy to use, introducing only a few signs at a time so you can learn easily also. I highly recommend this program. I suspect that just by looking at this product and reading this review, you are already interested in signing and open to the idea...this is a great product, a complete package and you don't need to buy anything else.

    Worth the Wait

We started signing to my 16 month old at 7 months, gave up at 11.5 months and at 12 months, he started signing 'more.' We started again and within 2 weeks, was signing back 10 signs. Signing has made parenting a breeze!! Our son walks up to us, signs what he wants (water, milk, snack, diaper change, etc) and there is NO whining! He even puts small sentences together (like, 'where are my shoes?') and tells us when his teeth hurt. I highly recommend it to all parents, but would not start until 8 months or later. If you are concerned about signing delaying speech, don't be. See Dr. Garcia's website for loads of research on how babies who sign talk earlier.

    The best thing we've done

My daughter is 18 months now and signing with her has been godsend. She's a determined little girl and knowing what she wants (even if she can't have it) is so helpful. It's also given us a way to interact with her -- it's amazing to us how much she was observing and learning. Without this way for her to communicate her thoughts I'm not sure we would have known how her mind works! We started at 6 months...it took 1.5 months for her to produce her first sign (milk) but now she uses more than 40 along with the words she's learning to speak. I highly recommend this kit as it helped us learn and motivated us.
