SUZANNE CIANI RELEASES 15TH ALBUM, SILVER SHIP, FEATURING ACOUSTIC PIANO AND SYNTH
You probably know that keyboardist Suzanne Ciani helped pioneer the fields of electronic music and new age music (although she plays more acoustic piano now than synthesizer). But if you will take a listen to her new CD (SILVER SHIP), you will hear the most mature work of her career (and this is her fifteenth album!). She incorporates some of her early classical music training, then puts in a touch of her ground-breaking electronic synthesizer work, adds a solid slice of her acoustic grand piano playing and finishes it off by collaborating with her band, THE WAVE (reed player Paul McCandless, flautist Matt Eakle, guitarist Teja Bell, cellist Joe Hebert and bassist Michael Manring. This music seems to be inspired by Italy and the ocean. She has always written strong melodies and these are no exception. She has a lot of fans and has sold a million or two albums in her time. Check this new one out and you will see why.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
