In 1818 Lydia Harcourt begins alphabetically blackmailing her lovers. When she reaches R she goes after renowned artist Rodesson Hamilton, whose rheumy hands do not allow him to paint anymore. Lydia knows his last two erotic art books Tales of a London Gentleman and Gentleman¿s Pleasures were different from one another as if different artists painted each tome. Since his incapacity is a secret, she assumes that his daughter Venetia, a portrait artist, did the last erotica. Lydia plans to make money off of his secret. --- Someone has learned the truth about the shared secret of Venetia and her dad that someone threatens to reveal the truth to the Ton if the Hamiltons fail to pay the exorbitant demands. Venetia thinks of her recent portrait subject, Earl Michael Wyndham, the first and only person to make her want another soul she also believes he can help her deal with the family blackmailer. As he teaches her the world of sensuality, someone wants their investigation stopped and is willing to kill to achieve that objective. --- Though a sensual erotic Regency romantic suspense, Venetia and Michael are strong characters in and out of bed as their lust for one another goes deeper than the fervent carnal relationship. Their heat is the prime plot, but the investigative intrigue enhances a well written fascinating historical. It would be a SIN if sub-genre fans missed this delightful page turning tale. --- Harriet Klausner

Just an OK story
I did not really enjoy this story all that much. Venetia is an artist who paints erotic art and the heroine wants her to stop as the man in the paintings look like him. She has quite an imagination and he is more than willing to go along with her. The whole thing is quite implausible and I had a hard time finishing the book.

Sex-y
This book is sex on wheels. Well, actually, it's sex at an orgy; sex on a couch, sex at the theatre, sex in a chair, sex. . . well, you get the point. Sprinkled between the amazing sex is an interesting plot with great characters and the obligatory danger. Please don't mistake my meaning - obligatory doesn't mean boring. Back to the sex, though, readers should be prepared for an orgy - m/m, f/f, front, back, sideways, multiple partners, light BDSM. Whatever your interests, it'll make your temperature rise.

Amazing book
I have to admit that when I started this book the first few pages didn't catch my eye, but I'm one of those people who hates to put down a book once they've already started it. But I have to say this is one of the time I was really glad that I kept on reading, because if I hadn't I would have missed out on a really good book. The next two books in the series are just as good if not better. (Black Silk and Hot Silk)

Arousing, sensual story
Well written, complex story that mixes erotica with mystery and romance. Vivid, well developed characters in a compelling story with sensual details that do not take away from the plot.
