Comparison to James Weldon Johnson's God's Trombones
I learned so much from reading this book, but what was most memorable is the wonderful way the author, Nick Salvatore, made the sermons so real. I compare the sermons to the sermons in James Weldon Johnson's book God's Trombones. The sermon in the book, The Eagle Stirrith her nest was so well written, I could see and hear the words come off the page. What was even more impressive was the explanations that Dr. Salvatore provided to help readers understand the meaning and the preaching style of C.L. Franklin. I have recommended the book to all the members in my Junto Reading Society.
