Not bad, but not memorable
It was an enjoyable read but lacked the depth needed to make the characters stick in your mind. Ian's background wasn't filled in enough for me to feel sympathetic towards him and his lifestyle. The princess's wasn't much better (to the point where I keep forgetting her name). He's a thief who got arrested on purpose to become a better thief. She wants to keep her idiot brother from being forced to claim her throne. Neither of the villains had any real depth either, considering who they are (I won't spoil it), you would think their personalities would be evident. Instead, one is no surprise and the other is too surprising (I thought it was actually out of character). Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. If you have a couple hours to waste, or just want something mindless, I would recommend this book. If you want a book where you love the characters and want to reread it and learn more about their story, then I would pass.
