While I did enjoy this book featuring the Mississippi Dark-Hunters, I have a better connection with the New Orleans Dark-Hunters. Lexion and Danger are perfect for each other. As usual, I enjoyed their bantering. What I absolutely loved in this book were the small hints about Acheron. Without giving away anything, I'll just say the more I learn about Acheron, the more I want to know about him. And, that includes learning more about Simi as well. I dare you to read this series and not love Acheron!

I have enjoyed Ms. Kenyon's dark hunter novels in the past. Her best works include humans. In this book only minor characters are human and as a result, the connections that the reader makes to the characters is missing. This story appears to have been written to provide information about Ash and demons which was appreciated but could have been done in a better narrative form and not the expository form presented. This novel doesn't take the reader away and the reader is not an impassioned participant but a casual observer. The passion and involvement that pulls the reader in is sorely lacking. I am sorry I waited so long for this book. It was very disappointing.

Danger and Alexion are sweet together.

Danger and Alexion's story is entertaining and sweet, just like the other DH novels. But it isn't my favorite. Alexion is there on Acheron's behalf to judge and hopefully save some DH's from changing sides and fighting with the Daimons. Danger is the DH he is assigned to be with during hisnshort stay. I enjoyed their relationship and story. They are a cute couple.

    Not My Favorite Dark Hunter

This book introduces the first Dark-Huntress, and I was disappointed. So far, I have loved all of Keynon's books in this series. I was really looking forward to the first female Dark-Hunter. Danger seems more preoccupied with getting Alexion in bed than anything else. The plot was not nearly as developed as Seize the Night or Night Play. While it's a good read to keep you involved with the series, I was disappointed.

    NOT HER BEST

The book starts out so fragmented, it makes it hard to like Danger until later in the story. Alexion was everything a hero should be, but didn't quite 'go' with Danger. The dialogue between Danger and Alexion seems forced, they seem to spend most of their time talking about Ash. They never seem to 'click' like the major players in her other stories. When the declaration of love happens it seems to come out of nowhere. Maybe it was because of how short his time is on earth? The ending was good, but left me with a lot of questions about their future in that realm. Meeting new Dark-Hunters and other new characters is a definite plus, but the very best part of this book is how much we learn about Ash!!!!
