The grandmother who has an exotic buisness that she runs in her home. The like how the plot has it's turns, but not too many. It was really my kind of book.

Sips of Blood is a meandering story of vampires, blood worship, bondage, and sadism. I found it rather superficial and lacking substance. The characters, having no real believable personality, also added very little to the story. Even the infamous Marquis de Sade, of who this book revolves around is seen as little more than an everyday man with a secret life dealing with torture, pain, and brutality. Little if any of the psychological aspects of his mind and thought process are dealt with. For those looking for an easy reading book dealing with porn, bondage, and a thirst for blood, then you probably will enjoy the book. However, if you expect something more substantial than superficial flash and shock, if you want to get into the minds, hearts, and souls of people and their behaviors, then you won't be satisfied.

    Decent

Though this book was very dragged out, long, and unstable, there was still an outline of a plot, and i think Mitchell did a decent job in her descriptions of people and places. Even though i would not reccomend a book like this, i would have to disagree with some of the comments posted by readers... in actuality, vampyres can walk in the daylight, and are not completely dependant on blood to function. These are merely the vampyres of fiction, and I keep Ms. Mitchell in high standards for giving her characters some of the traits of real vampyres.

    An Interesting Read...

A decent book at any rate. Ms.Mitchell takes use of one of the most eccentic people from history the infamous Marquis De Sade and delivers a interesting vampire/sadism mix in this book. The characters were well thought out, and after reading only a few pages you become drawn into their world of dark horror. The only set back was that the actual action in the book was sparse. I found myself sitting on the edge of my chair, preparing to jump into the book to make the characters do something. All and all I would consider this a good read, esp for fans of the Marquis or vampire fans in general.

    Just ok

Violent sex without passion, lots of blood, can't help but hate ALL the characters. Beginniing was seriously disjointed, took me half the book to be sure who everyone was. Won't be reading the rest of theseries

    Hmmm...interesting....

I wish there was more of a background story to Sade so I can better understand him. Overall, it was a good read.
