Want to zip into the skin of a character and live an adventure? You can with this one.

So many novels keep you at arm's length from the characters... Well, this one doesn't. I could step right into the shoes of these main characters and live every moment, every scene, every line. The dialog is so real you can hear it. The story really stayed with me. Intense but about decent people... flawed, but decent.

What a trip! What a romance!

I don't usually read Sci Fi but I happened to try this one and I can't believe what I've been missing! I loved it. It's really a Sci Fi romance because it's about two people amid troubled times finding each other in the last place they would have expected. The characterization is deep, the dialog honest and the scenes searingly intense. I'm now a sci fi fan.

    Short... Sharp... Shock...

What happens when two people who hate each other are forced to stay together to stay alive in 2020 Los Angeles? What happens when human being are treated like patented life forms? What happens when one man just... won't... give up?

    Excellent read.

I was thoroughly transported into this world. This was a very thought provoking long novel. Scifi, detective, murder mystery, thriller, this one covers it all. I hate mysteries because I can usually figure it out by the 3rd chapter. Yhis writer kept me engaged for over 1,000 pages. He ranks up there with Greg Bear. Great use of speculative science.
