    JUST NOT FOR US

I bought this book in lieu of drawing classes which my daughter wssn't able to enroll in. She wasn't pleaed with the instructional part of the book, which according to the reviews I'd read would have helped her in drawing techniques. In her words "I don't have time to just look at pictures of drawings." I looked at the book and had to agree with her. It seemed that the majority of the book was the author's drawings, not instructions on how to improve your own techniques. The book was described as an educational book written like an art /drawing class, which is why I chose it.
It is a beautiful book to look at, but for our purposes it just wasn't useful.

A Fabulous Intelligent Book for Artists/Students/Readers

My husband and I are both working artists and teachers of fine art and photography. As we thumbed through the book, we were inspired and delighted by the 250+ pages which contained many examples of art, whether it be landscape, still life, portraits or abstract, various styles of rendering, complete with instruction and narrative about the art and artists the author is depicting - from Picasso to Durer and beyond.

This book is inspiring, whether beginner or advanced. It will be a good review for me, as there is always something new to be learned no matter how advanced one is. I plan on using it to fine tune some of my sketching skills, as well as inspire some classroom lessons.

One of the best art book buys I have come across in a long time, at a bargin no less!

    Highly Recommended!

I've only worked through the first few chapters, the exercises in the book have had a tremendous impact on my drawing so far. This book is so cool because it's almost like an art history book and drawing course in one. Love it!!

    A reviewer

This book has great examples of artwork and has great procedures to go about making objects, people, and animals in a whole new way. I enjoy this book, because it gives me great practice to draw things and it gives me the inspiration to draw all the things in my environment.
