Great book for pregnant vegans

I don't think pregnancy is a good time to go vegan (just like it wouldn't be a good time to stop being vegan) because your body is going through enough without a huge dietary change! That said if you are already vegan this is a great book!

In the beginning of the book the author's have a "disclaimer" stating that they say it like it is. What they really are trying to do is ruin the appetite of any pregnant woman. I was really disappointed with the book and returned it to the store. Thank goodness I read this book after my morning sickness was over, I might have thrown up reading their extremely graphic details of animal slaughtering. I would not recommend this book to anyone. I have no idea how the author's got a doctor to write a recommendation for this book. In case you are still considering buying this book I will let you know what they say in a nutshell: milk is more harmful than good, and they recommend not eating eggs, meat, poultry, diary products, and most carbohydrates. They leave us with a very specific list of food (down to the brand) you can buy, mostly made of soy. The authors in fact want you, the reader, to turn vegan during your pregnancy. Please for your own sanity go buy Great Expectations or What to Expect While Your Expecting, instead

Listen to the video feed before you buy it.

This book series came to find me by referral of a friend that lost 40 lbs in two months. That is 20 lbs a month, 5 lbs. a week, perfectly within the allowable weight loss range of doctors and lacking the weird disclaimer that you often see on weight loss schemes stating that these gorgeous people we are looking at all lost these huge amts of weight, but the results are unlikely. This series is very rare, because you will clean your body of all the toxins it is harboring and stop polluting your body with things that it cannot digest and is allergic to, and you will become healthier, and thinner as a side effect. I can not believe all the negative comments about this books language. LOOK AT THE TITLE! The author states it is irreverent, which is kind of funny. It is crude, derogatory, you name it, but the facts are true. And anyone who does not want to eat vegan should have read what the book was about before buying it! It is written by two vegans.....Don't you think they might tell you how to be vegan? I wish these came in a censored version because I'm going to hide them for fear of my 12 yr old daughter seeing them in my possession and reading them and thinking it is okay to talk down to people and treat them as these authors do. Straightforwardness is one thing, but potty-mouth is another. As a breastfeeding mom, this book is great.
