I wasn¿t sure that I would like Sleepwalker because I am not a big fan of books where the main characters are on the run through the book. Boy was I wrong about this one. This book will keep you on your toes with suspense from beginning to end. Micayla (Mike) Lange is a cop spending New Years at her Uncle Nicco¿s house, when she wakes up after a nightmare. She is about ready to go back to sleep when she hears an odd noise. When she goes to investigate it, she walks into a crime scene. Jason Davis sees Mike and knows the plan has gone sour. Over the next few minutes, Mike sees pictures that changes her life as she knows it. Forced to make a run for it together, the two are in deep trouble with their lives in danger and not a lot of resources. The trust issue looms large between them which isn't good when you are trying to outrun people who want to kill you. Ms. Robards does a great job keeping the suspense level high throughout the book. The chemistry between Mike and Jason is hot but in a sense somewhat forbidden. Mike is a cop and an honest one to boot, so the reader wonders how a relationship will work between the two characters. It is a romantic suspense book so you know that a romance will develop. I kept wondering how this was going to be resolved and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. There are twists and a big red herring before it all ends. I started the book and couldn¿t stop. A great new book from one of my favorite authors!

I usually love Karen Robards books, but this book was terrible. It was stupid and went nowhere. I will think twice before I buy her next book? This was a total waste of time.

    Do NOt waste your money

As someone else wrote, this book took too long to get to the point. Most of the book is following Mick and Jason as they hide/run away. The plot sounded interesting which is why I bought the book. I only finished it to say I read the whole thing before I wrote this review. The book dragged on and only peaked my interest the last 50 pages. Even then it felt forced and a bit like she had to figure out how to end our misery. How do you write a book with the threat of a villain and never actually introduce him in the story? Do not waste your time or money on this book. Karen Robards has many other books that are better written.

SLOW pacing, no chemistry, bad ending, Robards can do better!

I am a great fan of Karen Robards and will purchase any new title under her name (and any old ones I come across, too), but Sleepwalker does not seem to be her best work.

The pacing is slow, slow, slow and not much happens in the first 180 pages, then it takes another 100 to get to the next story point, then another 100, then bang-boom it's 10 pages of fast story action and then the book just wraps up in a page or two? What? 400 pages of slow should not end in 10 pages.

The time-line in the story feels weird -- the first 400 or so pages supposedly take place in less than 24 hours. Again, what? As slow as the pacing was and the fact that really only 5 things happen in different places (house, boat, woods, deer stand, warehouse, island) the timing just feels off. The Sleepwalker title indicates someone is sleep walking, well, there are only 2 instances in the whole book.

There is little chemistry or reason for the 2 main characters of Mick and Jason to like each other. The whole wrap up with Mick's father was forced and too pat -- it was a cop out (no pun intented as Mic is a cop). The ending with her father just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Very disappoining and dis-satisfying. Not up to Robards fantastic past offerings. I'd recommend Bait, Justice, Shattered, Pursuit or Ghost Moon instead.
