Teenager sisters who are genetically predisposed toward taking hostages, torture, dismemberment and multiple acts of murder just for the sheer "fun" of it is NOT something that should be part of a publishing house's "Children's Publishing" collection. Shame on you, Simon and Schuster!

I have been an open-minded, culturally liberal high school literature teacher for over 20 years and have NEVER felt so strongly that a book should be removed from young adults shelves. The shock one feels when reading contemporary media headlines about teenagers who burn a friend alive just for the fun of it or other such acts is somewhat akin to what I felt when I had finished this book. This is not a clever satire on today's violent teen tendencies. It is a book that celebrates vicious, murderous impulsivity...not only celebrates, but encourages acceptance of it! The protagonists are flat characters who experience very little change within the story, except to become more adept at their torture and murder techniques, find boys who like to do the same thing and (SPOILER) get their mom to eventually accept them "as they are". Even an attempt toward the end to justify the teens' actions by having them being to only murder those who "deserve it" is just too much, too little, too late.

One might ask why, if I hated it so much, did I finish this book? It almost made me sick to do it, but I finished it because I could not believe that a CHILDREN'S PUBLISHING branch of a major publisher would publish something that didn't have some kind of surprise twist at the end where redemption comes into play somewhere---but no such luck.

Were my school's library to promote this book in anyway, I would object. You should, too.

    What the cherry?

This book is weird and disgusting.
There's gore, blood, torment, murder, monsters, molestation..
It's really confusing with little background info, and it's really
    morbid and pointless.

    ... super weird!!!!!

Ok,so i read the reviews and thought i was prepared for weird. Nope. The whole book was filled with sex, violence, and just generally weird characters. If you're on the fence about buying this book, i would advise against it.
