What a joy
What a marvelous balance Balogh achieves in both this book in particular and the Bedwyn series over all. In each chapter a glimpse of Wulfric's underlying humanity and deeply held feelings has teased the audience. In each story, though, it held greatest relevance for the sibling whose story it was. So each of the preceding novels each told their own story complete unto themselves. But all of them equally were leading to this one as well. Each glimpse prepared our sympathies and interest in Wulfric's story. And a satisying story arch it proved to be when Wulfric, the icy aristocrat, finds the only woman who brings him joy.

Great ending
This book did not disappoint. I found myself laughing at the situations Christine got herself in. I fell in love with wulf. I could not stop smiling the last forty pages or so. The whole family makes an appearance and it was a great to read their schemes and the obvious love they have for one another. I definitely loved this book and the series

Never a bad story with Mary B.-Enjoy!
This is the final episode of the "Slightly" series, It tells the tales of the Bedwyn family and is totally enchanting. Full of love and folly. Be sure to read the earlier novels first...then go on to the "Simply" series. What I love about Mary most is her sense of familia. We continually meet characters we kmow throughout both series. It is like being home.

Sometimes, you can get yourself in trouble by anticipating a book too much. While reading the Bedwyn family series, I was constantly intrigued by the Duke of Bewcastle. I also had read that this was the best book of the series. However, I wanted to read the series in order and so waited to read this book last. Fortunately, my expectations of this book were not let down. I loved it.
The Duke is a closed off man. He does not let anyone in including his family. When he meets Christine Derrick, she is very different from him and he is fascinated with her.
Christine Derrick, a widow, has decided to put her past life of society behind her and lead a simple life. She has been hurt in the past and is not looking for love. When she meets the Duke, she continuelly embarasses herself in front of him.
The chemistry of these two is evident from the beginning. It is a classic case of opposites attracting. Christine helps to bring the Duke's softer side out and he helps her to see her worth.
I really liked their romance. I liked the humorous scenes. I liked touching bases with the other brothers and sisters from previous books. The book has been critized for being another 'Pride and Prejudice'. Yeah, it is. But who cares. It was still great and I found myself smiling while reading Christine and the Duke's story. That is exactly how I like to feel while reading a good romance - Happy! -

Best Series Ever!!
I loved this series soo much. But don't ruin it by starting in the middle..try to start from the beginning. I loved each book and couldn't wait for the next one to start and hated to see any of them end! Will read and reread until the books fall apart (and probably buy new ones)

Love this book, last in the Bedwyn series
I love this Pride and Prejudice style book. Balogh ended the series in excellent form. I loved how she brought all the siblings back and their characters were solid. I have read this many times.

Okay Ending
Wulf story was alright. I liked Christine. He is still annoyingly gruff all the time but still...good ending to the Bedwyn Story.

Enjoyed it thoroughly
I thought it was funny and touching. I liked the characters who were imperfect people and therefore seemed realistic. I had looked forward to reading the end of the Bedwyn series and I was not disappointed.

A Fitting Tribute to the Bedwyns...
After spending so much time with the Bedwyn siblings, I found slightly dangerous a joy to read. Both Wulfic and Christine were terrific characters and with the rest of the Bedwyns intertwined throughout the story, a fan of the series could not ask for more.

Mary Balogh
Slightly Dangerous was a great ending to the Bedwyn Family Series. The humor that was in the story was unexpected given the serious nature of the Duke in the other books. I loved it!

A reviewer
Wulfric, Duke of Bewcastle is a wonderfully strong, interesting, and loving romantic hero and he deserved a better heroine than Christine, a strange, insincere and arrogant woman. The plot was not strong enough to overcome my dislike for this character. She seemed to take delight in insulting wulfric and her about face did not ring true. I think that Balogh is one of the best and I buy all of her books. I enjoyed all of the other books in the Bewcastle series and I really looked forward to reading Wulfric's story because he is so special. I think Balogh should write another book about him, make him a widower and give him another more worthy mate and a stronger plot.

A GOOD READ
I did enjoy this book, however i got realy bored with mrs. derick and her winning, no one would ever take so long as to admit they loved someone, i could of done with out at least 4 chapters of this book, i almost didnt finish, i finally got back into the book when the duke figured out justin, then i got interested again, the ending was great, and for a duke i didnt think he was cold at all, he has a title! there wasn't enough romance for me.........but i love romance, this was the first book for me by this author, i dont think i'll buy another

Perfect ending
This book lived up to the series and that is saying something. Wolfric stayed true to form and yet you believed his transformation to become a humanized version of his staid, cold self. Very real characters and settings. Read the whole series if you like romance.

END OF A SERIES
WAITED SO LONG FOR WULFRIC'S STORY AND WASN'T DISAPPOINTED. ON A SENSUAL SCALE OF 1-10 IT WAS ONLY A 3 BUT WHAT DID YOU EXPECT FROM THE 'DISTANT DUKE?' THE CONVERSATIONS THEY BOTH HAVE WITH THEMSELVES IS FUNNY SINCE YOU KNOW THEY REALLY DON'T HARBOUR ILL-FEELINGS FOR EACH OTHER. WAS NICE TO HAVE ALL THE BEDWYN CLAN BACK IN THE LAST IN THE SERIES. WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE MORE PASSION IN THE DUKE BUT IT WAS ENOUGH TO SUSTAIN THE STORYLINE. IT'S A KEEPER--TO BE READ AGAIN.

A Joy to Read
After a slow start, the intensity of this fine novel builds. Miss Balogh has taken the Pride and Prejudice plot with widow Christine Derrick somewhat like Elizabeth Bennett and the Duke of Bewcastle expanding on Mr. Darcy's character. It is in Balogh's crafting of the duke that she dazzles. Ever consistent, the duke is portrayed as icy and isolated while at the same time obsessed over Mrs. Derrick. The plot builds to a crescendo that will have readers bubbling with warm fuzzies. Another fabulous read from one of the genre's best.
