A classic....
While not as detailed or with as nice photo's as some more recent publications, this book is nonetheless a solid addition for any warrior's library.

A Good Beginning
Small Circle Jujitsu is a good book for anyone interested in beginning to learn about JuJitsu. It's illustrations are, for the most part, clear though occasionally it's difficult to match what's in the pictures with the accompanying explanatory text.

But please don't think that you can use this book to learn how to use and apply jujitsu. Without practice and dedication in a proper dojo this book is only good for a cursory look at an art that is very very extensive and very traditional. But as instruction books go, it's very good -
Good reference material
For those interested in small-circle jujitsu, this book is a great resource to have. The book is stocked with plenty of pictures to show the techniques in a step by step fashion. There is barely a page that does not have at least two pictures to show the various steps in the techniques (not including the pages with the background of the style). It is easy to read with not a lot of wording to explain the technique. Instead, the book uses many pictures to depict the techniques (which I believe is much more useful than words). However, The book does not give real life scenarios for some of the techniques. The techniques are shown through one angle. This fact makes the book smaller, but a few techniques would benefit from another angle in addition to the one provided. For people who want a simple depiction of techinques with a little explanation, this book is for you. Those who want an in depth look at the style, history, and background, this book is not for you. This book is simple, to the point, and with little flash. It is in black and white.
