Inspiring college students to use their degrees to the fullest extent
'Smart Moves' maps out the college and career paths of young people who not only gain a diploma but also broaden their education in order to utilize the entire scope of a job. As I am a current student now, I'm finding this book to be useful in helping myself realize the importance of acquiring all of skills needed to fully complete all aspects of a future job. I encourage especially upper class high school students as well as college students to read this book. There is something in this book for about every career path possible. Was this review helpful? A Well-Rounded Guidebook
This book provides a very helpful framework for anyone thinking about modern-day careers. Not only does Smart Moves dispense helpful and easily digested advice, but it complements this advice with thorough analyses of the career strategies of real and fallible people. I appreciate that Curran and Greenwald don't waste your time with resume-writing tips or overly-motivational nonsense. This book has expanded the way I think about my own career trajectory--I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Classical Studies and work in arts administration--and makes me feel confident that the liberal arts education I acquired will continue to serve me well professionally. Was this review helpful?
