Inspiring college students to use their degrees to the fullest extent

'Smart Moves' maps out the college and career paths of young people who not only gain a diploma but also broaden their education in order to utilize the entire scope of a job. As I am a current student now, I'm finding this book to be useful in helping myself realize the importance of acquiring all of skills needed to fully complete all aspects of a future job. I encourage especially upper class high school students as well as college students to read this book. There is something in this book for about every career path possible.

    A Well-Rounded Guidebook

This book provides a very helpful framework for anyone thinking about modern-day careers. Not only does Smart Moves dispense helpful and easily digested advice, but it complements this advice with thorough analyses of the career strategies of real and fallible people. I appreciate that Curran and Greenwald don't waste your time with resume-writing tips or overly-motivational nonsense. This book has expanded the way I think about my own career trajectory--I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Classical Studies and work in arts administration--and makes me feel confident that the liberal arts education I acquired will continue to serve me well professionally.
