    Hi

This series is amazing and lifechanging!! The book is so good. I picked it up in a thrift shop, ignored it for a year, and then read it. I can't put them down!! So good I cannot express how much they mean to me now. After the fourth book, I have decided I want to be a wizard!!!!!!!! Overall in the entire series the best characters are Dairine, Nita,.Kit,.and Ronan( not in that order) but eberyone else is brilliant too!!! Amazing!!!

The Wizard series by Diane Duane

From the first time I picked this up I found a series I really enjoyed. While definitely aimed at younger readers, older readers [I am 65] can find joy in this work as well. I have read the series several times. Unfortunately, I lost it in a move; but I will replace it so that I can read it again. There are many times when, to me, it is the only reading that really leads to enjoyment. I would recommend it to all ages.

    Never got to finish

I started this in middle school when i came across the first book that had just been recently published. Not to long into the first book i had fallen completely in love with it. I made it half way through the series before some uncontrollable events caused me to lose the books and i didnt get a chance to finish a series that i had been so captivated with. Im so glad that the series is available as e-books because now i can finished a series i started @ 13 or 14. So although its been ten years since i last read any of the books im so looking forward to starting again and finishing it! This series is a great one to read for all fantasy lovers. I like that it starts out slow because it gives you time to grow with the characters as their lives change from ordinary to extremely unordinary! If you ever wandered what it would be like to come across a book that could teach to become a wizard than you will throughly enjoy this series as much as i did when i first picked up the book. I know a lot of people complain about the slow pace of the book and i cam fully agree that it does start out slow but when i first read it i was deteemined not to quite and i was richly rewarded as i got towards the last pages of the book i found myself completely engrossed and wanting more! Just like becoming a wizard takes time so does the author and you will be glad for it because you wnt feel like you were rushed or confused as to how things work and such that other fantasy novels do. You will want to know what happens in the next step of being a wizard and what will the next adventure be like? This book is a great start to an even greater series so dont give up! XD

    I Also Recommend:

So You Want to Be a Wizard?

I recomend this book (along with the rest of the series) to people who like the witch and wizard stuff. This story is full of adventure and mystery. Nita and Kit learn how to become a good friend and deal with situations that are out of this world. They go on an adventure to save the world as we know it. They learn spells and how to depend on eachother throughout the book. (Just a warning the spells may not be what you expect.) Read it. Enjoy it. And share it. (Don't forget to read the rest of the series after you finish this one!)

This book is absoloutely amazing! Possibly a bit easy, (I am 11), though definitely enjoyable. I recommend the whole series! Again, absoloutely amazing. Diane Duane is a fantastic author. I also recommend Brian Jaques. He is a great author, around the same level.

    Found again

I first read this book in 1999. By then it was 16 years old and I was 13. I just finished reading it again. It was just as captivating at the age of 26 as it was back then. As soon as I finished I handed it off to my niece. She hasn't pulled her nose out of it in two days. I wish I had know at 13 that there were more to the series but now I am off in search of them. I heartily suggest you do the same.

This book is the overall best read for fantasy lovers. It takes two characters and brings the both of them together by chance. I could not put it down.

    Wizards

The prologue of So You Want to Be A Wizard is really good, but onto chapter one, I lost my way. I didn't really like it, it was kinda confusing. But it has an awesome plot and believable characters! Three stars!

So you want to be a Wizard

So you want to be a Wizard ¿Something stopped Nita¿s hand as it ran along the bookshelf. She looked and found that one of the books had a loose thread at the top of its spine. It was one of those `so you would like to be a¿¿ books. A series on careers. So you want to be a pilot, so you want to be a scientist ¿a writer. But this one said ¿So you want to be a Wizard.¿ I don¿t believe this, Nita thought. She shut the book and stood there, holding it in her hand, confused, amazed, suspicious ¿ and delighted. If it was a joke, it was a great one. If it wasn¿t..? I loved the book So you want to be a Wizard for a lot of reasons. The thing I liked the most was the way that it crossed fantasy and science fiction. There were magical wizards and advanced, slightly unbelievable technologies. Another thing I liked about this book was the idea of it... Two pretty normal kids who each stumbled upon a magical book that turns them into wizards when they recite the wizard oath. Being a wizard or warlock was always a fantasy I dreamed about, and still do, especially considering that my mother was born on Halloween. It seemed that this book touched on one other thing that seemed to hit really close to home, especially after watching the news lately. The energy issue we are facing today. It tells us that the reason that there are wizards is to delay (there can be no stopping it) the end of the universe, which will happen when all of the energy has been used. They stated ¿A wizards business is to conserve energy ¿ to keep it from being wasted. On the simplest level this includes such unmagical looking actions as paying ones bills on time, turning off the lights when you go out, and supporting the people around you in getting their lives to work. It also includes a lot more. No matter how much preserving we do, the Universe will eventually die. But it will last longer because of our efforts ¿ and since no one knows for sure whether another Universe will be born from the ashes of this one, the effort seems worthwhile.¿ These are just a few of the reasons that I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a really interesting science fiction story, with enough truth to make you think. If you want to really see how great it is I recommend that you go read it for yourself. Mitchell Sillery
