    SOARING HOME FLIES HIGH!

Small-town girl Darcy Shea has big-time dreams, aspiring to be the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Problem is, Darcy doesn't know how to fly, nor does she have a plane. She's permanently grounded in Pearlman, Michigan, where in 1918, women do not yet even have the right to vote. A woman's place is in the home, not the skies. Even her own father, who loves Darcy dearly, refuses to consider such nonsense as women aviators, much less have his own daughter the one at the controls. Yet Darcy's dreams refused to be grounded, and when test pilot Jack Hunter crash-lands in Pearlman, she can hardly contain her excitement. A plane and a pilot in practically her own backyard? Surely God has answered all her prayers! But Darcy's pleas to teach her to fly result in a resounding NO from Jack. When it comes to women and the way things should be, seems Mr. Hunter is just as backward in his thinking as Darcy's father. But Darcy's got spunk and a dream that won't die, and soon she's convinced Jack to take her up in his plane.

SOARING HOME is the story of a strong spirited young woman who's determined to follow her dream, and a man with a stubborn streak wide as the plume of the plane he flies. When Darcy and Jack team up to ready the plane for a transatlantic flight, it's to finally discover exactly what family, friends, faith -and LOVE- really mean.

Christine Johnson is a gifted author with a unique voice that will appeal to readers of inspirational and historical fiction. Her debut novel SOARING HOME is filled with a spirituality that sings across the pages as we join Darcy on her journey of a lifetime. Will Darcy's father allow her to fly? Will Jack make peace with his family and his past? Will Darcy and Jack find happiness in the skies and in each other's arms? Bravo, Ms. Johnson, for doing such an excellent job in hooking the reader right from the start and keeping us turning the pages in search of that happily-ever-after each of us craves.
