    Everyone Should Read This Book

Originally posted at: www.longandshortreviews.blogspot.com ***** I love a smart romance. Your know the type: deep characters living in a richly tapestried setting. Wonderfully flawed people who leap off the page. Song of Seduction is that type of book.

The characters are far from perfect. Arie De Voss is a crass, socially awkward composer who stole his premier composition from his dying mentor. He's riddled with self doubt and self flagellation. At first, the reader wonders how he can possible be the hero. How could someone, much less the reader, fall in love with him? But Mathilda Heidel did and so did I. And so will you.

Mathilda Heidel is much more likeable at the start. A young widow who has hidden her musical talents. Traded them, really, for respectability. But as any true musician, artist, or author knows, you ignore your artistic talents to you own peril. When Arie De Voss reawakens her music, she both loves and hates him for it.

But that's not everything. He's got demons. She's got demons. And when they let their demons free... I don't want to ruin the story for you. Just know that Carrie Lofty is a master. Her sense of time and place and use of language make 1804 Austria come alive. I wanted a map and a travel guide filled with pictures to truly see with my eye the places her words brought me to in my mind. I know I'd find Mathilda and Arie there.

I ran right out and bought her back list. That's how good this book is.

MUSIC, LUST, LOVE AND HISTORICAL ROMANCE ALL ROLLED UP IN ONE!

SONG OF SEDUCTION by Carrie Lofty is an Historical Romance set in 1804 Austria. It is written with depth and detail. It has lust, romance, redemption, guilt, passion in music, scandal and sensuality. The hero, Arie De Voss is handsome, a composer,he is condescending, shy with crowds but the instant he meets our heroine Mathilda things start to spark between them. Our heroine Mathilda Heidel, is a doctor's widow, loves music but puts it aside to seek a quiet life and escape the scandal her own parents caused. She is a gifted musician and Arie De Voss is her idol and has been for years. Things get heated up, they learn things together, and find true love. They must also deal with their guilt of the past, lust and finally the truth will surface. This is a story of the truth will set you free. I would recommend this book especially if you enjoy music, the challenges of being a composer and all it involves and most of all romance, sensuality and love at it's finest. This book was received for review from Net Galley and details can be found at My Book Addiction and More and Carina Press.
