    Good, well-written story!

Review by Jen: Author Abby McDonald does a wonderful job creating two characters that you just care about even though they are complete opposites. She drops the girls into situations that make you laugh then cry. And you cheer the girls on as they struggle to adapt to their new situations and deal with people so very different from what they are used to.

I enjoyed this book very much. I highly recommend Sophomore Switch to anyone who enjoys a good, well-written story.

This was a great feel good book!

I loved this book because it took a good look at all the standards that are placed on women. Some are placed there by society, men, even ourselves. Should we be the perfect, proper, modest woman or is it ok to act on passion....That is what I took away from this book. Ok, now this sounds like a self-help book review but seriously I really enjoyed it. The book was fun with a few empowering moments. Its also got plenty of boy drama and a little heat if you know what I mean...lol Hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!

Tasha and Emily couldn't be more different, but each wants to escape their social nightmares. Tasha needs to hide out from the tabloid drama and Emily needs to nurse her broken heart. They swap lives: Natasha heads to Oxford and Emily heads to UC Santa Barbara.

The only problem - they've each already signed up for classes. So Natasha's stuck taking feminist courses and Emily's stuck learning about film. Neither of them fit in, until they lean on each other for a bit of advice. Both girls start to dress more appropriately, Natasha with preppy clothes and Emily with fewer layers. Slowly, things start to turn around for both girls.

Natasha embraces her classes and becomes determined to change people's mind about her. She joins in the rally to save the women's health center. Emily learns how to relax and let go of her control freakiness.

Is the newfound happiness about to come crashing down when their responsibilities resurface?

SOPHOMORE SWITCH is a great novel on several levels. It's a great tale of two girls switching lives and broadening their horizons and examining the question of feminism. The story especially delves deeply into the topic of what makes a feminist - can a girl have fun and still desire equality for women?

Amazing and heartwarming book- highly recommended!!!

Sophomore switch is about Emily and Tasha-two girls in college that both agree to study abroad for one semester to escape personal problems. Emily is a political study major at Oxford and spends her nights writing papers and her weekends shacked up in libraries eight hours at a time. Emily decided to go on the switch to mend her broken heart from her ex-boyfriend Sebastian who broke up with her because Emily did not give him enough "action". On the other hand, Natasha A.K.A Tasha is a film major at UC Santa Barbara and is busy blowing off classes to go shopping and to the beach. Tasha jumps at the opportunity to spend a semester at Oxford hoping that her "Hot Tub Scandal" with a famous reality star will die down while she is gone. Sophomore Switch is full of excitement, ups, and downs and not to forget a little boy drama. Both girls discover that they have taken a lot out of the experience than they might have expected. Emily has now been able to let loose and Tasha has learned to deal with the consequences of her actions. The most important element that the novel stresses is to follow your dreams and not let anybody's opinion stop you from being true to yourself. I recommend this book to all high school girls because all high school girls can find a way to relate to Tasha or Emily and the experiences that they are going through. Whether it be that they have went to a new school, or even had their own scandal and had to deal with the consequences
