Beautiful Romance! A Must Read!
I love the way Misty Evans gives you a little sexy fun between Rife and Keva, before Keva has to tell Rife who he really is, and things get serious. Rife can't understand why his desire for Keva is so strong. He can't be next to her without losing all control, and this is driving him crazy. After all, he is a professional FBI profiler. But Keva knows the truth about Rife, and she's waited a thousand years to reunite with him--her reincarnated soul mate, Kai, and to correct the wrong she's believes she done a thousand years ago that destroyed her people. And she's waited for the only man she's ever loved--Kai who's come back as Rife. Enann, who's Kai's half-brother, has also waited a thousand years to take his revenge on Reva and Kai.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I fell in love with Keva and Rife. Keva is strong-willed, beautiful, and a sexy women. Her strength and endurance-waiting a thousand years for her soul mate to come back to her-had my heart breaking. And Rife is sensitive, sensual, caring, strong and gorgeous. Well, I just fell head-over-heels for him. Misty Evans definitely understands the true meaning of what soul mates are, and she writes it perfectly. The love and steamy romance between Rife and Keva made my heart swoon. The storyline and characters in Soul Survivor are strong, beautiful, and well-developed. This is a book I'll be reading over and over again. I recommend Soul Survivor as a must read! And a romance you will fall in love with.
I have to say that this story was quite the roller coaster ride for me. And still having finished it can't really decide if I fully liked it or not. The best I can do is layout first my likes then my dislikes about this book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
First off, the story as a whole was very well written. The mythology was brought to life and I got into the whole actual CSI type feel to it in the beginning. As writing goes it was very strong. I was impressed, and it was really what kept me reading if I am being honest. The author was very detailed, and at times it was mundane details that lost me a bit. I do understand that the author was making an attempt to world build. However, it dripped on till I found myself not really caring anymore.
As far as the characters go, I don't think Rife St. Cloud was Alpha enough for me if I am being honest. He seemed almost depressing at times and I didn't even build an image of him in my head like I do with most male leads. As far as Keva was concerned, I think she stole the alpha role. I think the author created such a strong and independent female lead, that the love story became unbelievable that she would need a man.
I do get that she has spent 1,000 year alone, I guess that was where the independence came from, but it was so dominant to her character build that I didn't believe the love connection between Keva and Rife. I didn't connect with them as a couple at all. They were a bit undimentional. That saddens me because I did enjoy the authors writing. I was more intrigued with the story rather than the love story. I wasn't feeling the Native American theme; however it was interesting because I understood all the magic involved.
I guess you can't win them all. I will pick up another book from this author because this seems like a stand alone, and I would like to see if her other characters and their love stories are better developed.

Time-travel romance with a twist!
FBI Special Agent Rife St. Cloud is on vacation back in Wolf River, Oregon his hometown when a ritualistic killer leaves behind 6 dead women, all Native American with matching tattoos carved right above their left breast. Someone who has extensive knowledge in native languages and religion and having worked as a profiler for the past 5 years, the symbols carved into the dead women stirs unease deep in his gut until one of the women stirs back into life leaving him with more questions than answers. Keva Moon Water is an immortal, someone who has walked the Earth for thousand years, waiting for the soul of the love of her life who had died from her hands to be reincarnated. Kai is the warrior who was sent to kill her if she didn't marry Kai's half-brother and had fallen in love with her instead. But Keva underestimates their mutual enemy's dark obsession with her, someone whose willing to travel across time to finally claim what he has always considered his to do with as he pleases. Though Keva longs to embrace the man who stands in front of her, her beloved Kai whom she has been waiting to see for a thousand years, the doubt that clouds Rife's eyes whenever the subject comes up has Keva reeling back in pain. But even Rife who lets his life be led by logic and evidence cannot deny the flood of need that Keva opens up deep inside of him and neither can he deny the memories that keep taunting him to take a step beyond the realms of reality as he knows it and believe in the impossible for once in his life. Soul Survivor is a story that spans a time period of thousand years and takes the reader on a journey of love that has withstood the test of time, heartache, loneliness and pain. It tells of a man's obsession with possessing ultimate power in his hands for his own purposes and how ultimately good wins over evil, not without a few sacrifices along the way. Rife McCloud is a strong and determined hero, definitely the type warriors are made out of, and Rife in the form of Kai, the warrior that lays claim on Keva the High Chieftess of the Salt Coast Clan just about took my breathe away. In Keva Rife finds a woman whose strength rivals and matches his, whose determination and courage to do what's right leaves him in awe. The passion and need for each other that is so much a part of both of them is never too far, always prodding them along to reach new heights, to embrace a love that has traveled so far in its need to be embraced by two people who so very much need it. A story that cleverly combines and weaves together the past and present, with two people courageous enough to face the impossible, Soul Survivor is a novel highly recommended for fans of time-travel romances with a twist. Was this review helpful? This was such a strong story, and so were the characters. It started with a thrilling, page-turning scene, and it never stopped. I'm not always a believer in soul mates in books, but in Soul Survivors, I believed that Keva and Rife were soul mates who'd been separated for 1,000 years. Their enemy was cunning and relentless, which made it even more compelling. If you're looking for a well-written, edge-of-your-seat story, this one is for you.Was this review helpful? an awesome read and a great book to recommend
This book starts of with a murder mystery of multiple women, and just gets better as it goes. I love the plots twist and turns. I enjoyed the romantic tension between an immortal, a High Chieftess, Keva and her reincarnated soul mate Kai. This story was well built with strong native American background, and well formed characters. Even the bad guy you love to hate. This was an awesome read and a great book to recommend. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
