S.A.S.S. Series is great for Pre-Teens
This is a great series for Pre-Teens. There are several books in the series, each written about a different country. You will learn a little bit about each country (there is a map in the front of each book), a little a bit about being an Exchange Student, but A LOT about whatever the book "issue" is. Each book has a "situation" (divorced/remarried parent, new sibling, over-achiever siblings, etc.) Each "situation" is treated gently and everything works out nicely in the end. NOT preachy, NOT racy, may be too tame for actual teens. Nice books for Pre-Teen Book Clubs.

A great book for young girls (11-15), but a little boring for girls outside of the early teenage years. This book is very well-written and clean.. perfect for young girls wanting to read something about friendship, love and the power of togetherness.

An Adventure in Spain
Elena is going to Spain for the first time in the S.A.S.S. program. She is very shy and normally doesn¿t do things without her best friend Claire who couldn¿t go. When Elena gets to Spain she meets her host family, the Cruzes. She soon finds out that there is another girl staying with them named Jenna. Jenna¿s dorm roomed was flooded so she is staying with the Cruzes for awhile. She is extremely outgoing and likes to flirt with all the guys, which is very different from Elena. One of Elena¿s classes that she is taking involves playwriting. She really wants to win a contest that they have to see who can write the best play. Elena also really wants to meet a cute guy in Spain, which she does. His name is Miguel but Elena¿s not sure if he likes Jenna already or not. I really liked this book a lot. I don¿t have anything that I don¿t like about this book. It keeps you very interested in reading it and is the best S.A.S.S. book. This book teaches you that even if you are really shy you can still be outgoing. Spain or Shine is one of the books in the S.A.S.S. series which you can read in any order. If you like any books like the Clique series or the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series then you will like this book.

I liked the book, I like how it describes a bunch of places in Spain. I also like the experiences that the main Character has while visiting a different country and trying to adapt to it.. I like it..

Ugh! Horrible! Anything is better than this book!
I love to read romance-comedy books and I thought that was what I would get from Spain or Shine but I was wrong! I love the spanish culture and like to read about it. The book was too descriptive in so many things that didn't matter! It took me about a month to read it because it was so boring! After I was done I felt that I could have read five awesome books in place of that unexciting one for how much time I spent on it!
