This book was originally assigned for a class of mine. It was later assigned as extra credit and I decided to read it anyway. This book is about a young woman who has a son that she later finds out is Deaf. By the time she realizes and wants to admit that he is Deaf, she is unsure how to teach him a language. She goes through many differnt struggles throughout the book and explains the choices she made for her and her son. It was really interesting to see how she dealt with the struggles of being a hearing parent of a Deaf child. She ends up taking American Sign Language classes, taking him to classes, and eventually moves to where he can attend a Deaf school. This book was a really good book, especially for anyone interested in the Deaf culture and Deaf community. I loved it!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
