High Quality, High Impact, High Spirituality

Chan has written an excellent book of Christian Spirituality. It is broad (he draws from Calvin, the Church Fathers, Roman Cathiolicism, Orthodoxy, Pentecostalism, Wesleyanism, etc.) Most of his criticisms are toward his own tribe 'Pentecostals'. He also brings an Asian eye & ear to the whole discussion, which is delightful & helpful--especially if you're trying to communicate with Asian Christians, or communicate what non-Americans see when looking at American Christianity. He shows how Creed & Deed dance together. This book would be excellent material for those trying to bring a heightened appreciation for other Christian traditions to their church & it would be a solid resource if someone is trying to bring a more serious approach to holiness.

Systematic study of the christian life

In this time of religious fluff and foolishness, I am very pleased to have found this excellent book on the life in the Spirit. It is not for the shallow Christian but for those who are serious about their walk with God, their union with Him and the Truth. I urge all Christians, both scholars and students alike to read this book and keep it close by where you will want to read it over and over again.
