While this book is written in the context of recovery, it is no more 'just' recovery book than the Bible is 'just' a book about the Christian faith. The breadth and depth of the authors' insight opens a vista of spiritual experience that I have seen nowhere else. There are pages and paragraphs that took my breath in their simplicity and clarity of thought. I have sent copies to friends in recovery, friends not in recovery, and clerics, and I have recommended it to dozens of people. My personal, dog-eared and worn copy is a constant companion when I travel, and resides at my bedside when I'm home. It's must reading for any student of spirituality.
