Decent cliched premise... but then goes buggy itself

What starts off as a cliched premise (Super computer virus that attacks everything), shows it has potential. When all of a sudden they just try to turn the whole story into a innocent man charged cliche. Cliched "cops don't believe the hero", the "super nerd bad guy", the typical "Female FBI agent", etc. Every cliched storyline seems to come into play (kidnapping, computer bug, good cop/bad cop), and then the "love story" between the FBI agents that is just thrown in there, because the cliche wasn't done anywhere else in the story.

Average cliche riddled book = average story.
