AWESOME!

I loved this book so much. One of my friends teases me because I like to read cheesy romance novels, but that's who I am. So one day when we were in a store she brings this book to me and starts laughing and saying it sounded like my kind of book. I turned it over to read the back and was like, thanks now I have to buy it. I loved every minute of it, so thanks Brittany. This book was great for the kind of people who like to read the cheesy romance novels or who are big romantics like me.

This is a fun baseball romance

Tampa Bay Bomber World series hero Richard 'Risk' Kincaid is going home to Frostproof, Florida now that the season is over to see Jacy Grayson, who he has loved since high school. However, Jacy sees him as her best buddy, the guy she turns to when her latest romance fizzles. This year at the annual charity event he plans to win her heart. Unbeknownst to Risk is that Jacy has loved him since high school and makes up lovers so that he can mend her so called broken heart. She knows one day she must tell him the truth perhaps at this year¿s charity event.----------- Stephanie 'Stevie' Cole knows her baseball trivia while everyone else knows she loves World Series seventh game losing pitcher Aaron Grayson who is also coming home to Frostproof for the charity event. However, this year Aaron brings two people with him, a dreaded fiancée Natalie and his roommate Zen Driscoll, who at first sight finds himself half in love with Stevie.----------- This is a fun baseball romance with two (and indirectly three) tales of love though the main story line follows the escapades of Risk and Jacy. The lead male risks everything with a bottom of the ninth suicide squeeze that will leave him with Jacy or striking out into a double play as both will end miserable. The supporting role players, Stevie and Zen, and to a lesser degree Aaron and Natalie also score as readers will enjoy the off season capers of baseball stars and the women they love.----------------- Harriet Klausner

Another Winner For Angell!

Mega-talented Kate Angell has another super hit with Squeeze Play. As in all Angell books, the author's hallmark humor shines on every page - as does her incredible ability to bring characters to bold, vivid life in a setting so vibrant you'll feel as if you've actually been to Frostproof, Florida. Angell's books are known for their sizzle as well and Squeeze Play is her hottest yet. Risk Kincaid, Zen Driscoll and the Bat Pack Boys are walk-off-the-page heroes. Sexy, charming, and just plain irresistible. Jacy Grayson makes an endearing heroine with her zany ways and colorful personality, and secondary heroine, Stevie Cole, catches your heartstrings from her first appearance. Even Frostproof is a 'character' - a wonderful slice of small town America so appealing readers will wish that they, too, could walk its charming streets and pop into Jacy's Java for coffee and a good time. And that's what Angell's books are always about: good times. No other author does 'feel good' books better. Squeeze Play is fast-paced and fun, a sexy, enjoyable read sure to delight. Highly recommended!

A Grand Slam

Kate Angell hits a grand slam in Squeeze Play. _________________________________ Ace center fielder Risk Kincaid has come home to Frostproof, Fl., after helping his team the Richmond Rogues win the World Series. Risk along with teammate Zen Driscoll has come to Frostproof to relax and unwind. But Risk has an ulterior motive. He wants Jacy Grayson to see him as more then her rebound lover. _______________________________ Jacy Grayson owner of Jacy¿s Java has always had a sweet spot for Risk. It goes all the way back to high school. What he doesn¿t know is there have been no other lovers. Lacy has promised herself to tell Risk the truth and let the chips fall where they may. __________________________ Jacy and Risk¿s chemistry is off the charts. Their road to romance is filled with laughter and strange cosmic forces. ______________________ Squeeze Play is the first novel I have read by this author and it won¿t be the last. Her characters are real and fresh. Besides the main romance the secondary characters had an exceptional romance to treasure.

Oh My!!! If you love romane this book is for you!! I couldn't put this book down..It is amazing it is so cute and you feel like you know the charactors.. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS AMAZING. must read.

Summer, Baseball, and Romance

Squeeze Play begins with the Richmond Rogues winning the World Series, then takes the Most Valuable Player, Risk Kincaid, to his hometown of Frostproof, Florida. There, Risk entices coffee shop owner, Jacy Grayson, to move beyond his rebound lover and become his wife. Zen Driscoll and Stevie Cole are interwoven into the plot. Fun, meant-to-be- together characters with lots of sizzle. A truly enjoyable read!! Lots of humor and a wonderfully drawn small town atmosphere.

A Sexy Baseball Romance That Really Scores

Kate Angell's Squeeze Play is lime-a-licious! So summer-y and sexy. Hot sexual tension, yummy baked goods, and a bat pack of baseball hunks is enough to make any girl's temp rise, including Jacy Grayson, owner of Jacy's Java in the small town of Frostproof, Florida. When pro baseball player Risk Kincaid, star of the Richmond Rogues, returns to his hometown during the off-season, he's also hoping to reignite the fire with his high school sweetheart, Jacy. What he doesn't count on is his baseball pals tagging along, creating fun and mayhem--and competition for Jacy's attention. Rounding out the cast is Jacy's best gal pal, Stevie Cole, baseball trivia whiz, who gets a surprise of her own when her baseball b.f. returns to town. The town of Frostproof reminds me of county fairs, cherry icees, corn-on-the-cob, and, of course, baseball hunks. Angell has captured the essence of summer in her fun, sexy, delish novel. The perfect read for a hot summer day. Her characters vibrate with a sexual energy that stimulates and satisfies, yet she balances the sexual tension with wonderful characters who feel like old friends. I cared what happened to them beyond the bedroom. Like slipping on an old pair of comfy jeans and splurging on a swirly vanilla ice-cream cone, Squeeze Play is finger-lickin' good. I loved it and look forward to the next book in the series!

Angell delivers a home run with bases loaded

Kate Angell¿s fourth book, Squeeze Play, (Dorchester, Leisure Books, May 2006) is the first in a series and the first that doesn¿t have a paranormal element in it (Calder¿s Rose, 2003 Drive Me Crazy, 2004 Crazy For You, 2005 ¿ Love Spell, Dorchester Publishing). This series centers on the fast life of pro baseball, that will be the perfect summer read. The Boys of Summer will win your heart, but it¿s the Girls of Summer who make this series come alive. Risk and Jacey have been friends their whole life. Vibrant, sexy, sassy Jacey Grayson was the second cousin of Richard Kincaid¿s best friend. Richard is better known as ¿Risk¿ to his baseball pals, but oddly, risk is the one thing Jacey won¿t take with him. They¿d grown up together. With her being a year younger, Risk always protected her like a brother. Only, his feelings were far from brotherly toward this free spirit. He easily spotted Jacey in any crowd. Dressed in brilliant colors that had others accusing her of being colorblind, she endlessly fascinated him. Then there was her hair. She went from pink to purple to maroon at the drop of a hat. Risk knew there was no one like Jacey. To him she was ¿Totally unforgettable. She was pure sparkle and pizzazz.¿ Jacey has always watched Risk like a big brother, a hero, loved him, yet feared he was the one man who could crush her heart, so she kept an emotional distance. It¿s up to Risk to convince her where love and marriage is the objective he is no risk at all! Evocative of small town life and well-stocked with secondary characters, who clearly are setting the stage for novels two and three in the series, the story leaves us charmed, delighted and laughing out loud. All I can say is Angell hits a homerun with this enchanting tribute to the boys in the dugout and the women in the stands cheering them on.

Loved the Baseball Backdrop

I guess I am the exception to the rule but I am a woman who is a sports "junkie".. Loved the baseball background to the story and it is also a "nice" love story... Funny, cute, fast read... If you like baseball you will love the baseball trivia contained in this book... If you are not a sports fan you will enjoy the love story.

Fun, Fast Read

Squeeze Play was a fun, quick read (I read it in one day). The cast of characters was fun and energetic. Cover to cover this book was entertaining. A secondary romance (actually by the end there are 3 solid couples) brews and you see love blossoming all over the place. This book is proof positive that communication is key to any relationship, and if you can't trust you romance novels, who can you trust? LOL I can't wait to read the next, and read about the Bat Pack....Curveball!!!

It is great!!!!

I love all of the books in this series!!! They are all very easy to read and extremely entertaining, if you like romance or romantic comedy books. The characters are all loveable and the story lines with all of them are great. I have given this book to many of my friends and I recommend it to anyone who is a contemporary romance reader. If you like this, you will also like Curveball and Strike Zone by Kate Angell---they are in the same series!!!

I Love Baseball

I read Squeeze Play, then went on to read Angell's Curveball and Strike Zone. The book is set in Frostproof, Florida. Hometown boy, Risk Kincaid, returns after the World Series to claim Jacy Grayson, a quirky coffee shop owner. Rogue Zen Driscoll comes along for the ride. And takes interest in a girl named Stevie. A light, fun, quick afternoon read. Lots of baseball trivia.

Richard 'Risk' Kincaid, pro baseball player, has been crazy for Jacy since high school. But he knows that she only sees him as a friend. Risk is the one Jacy calls whenever she breaks up with a guy. He is her 'rebound lover'. Now that the World Series is over, Risk looks forward to returning to his hometown. Each year a weekend charity event takes place. Risk plans to use this time to get closer to Jacy's heart. .................... Jacy Grayson owns the local coffee shop and has been just as crazy about Risk. She even pretends to have relationships and break ups just to have a reason to call Risk and have him come back to her bed and ease her broken heart. But how will she ever get the guts to tell him the truth? And will he hate her for it? .................... Stephanie 'Stevie' Cole can't be beat when it comes to baseball trivia. Stevie has had her eyes on another pro baseball player, Aaron Grayson. Everyone in town has known it for years. She looks forward to the baseball season ending and Aaron coming back to town, and to her. But this time Aaron comes home with a horrid fiancée and humiliates Stevie in the most public way possible. ................. Zen Driscoll was practically kidnapped by his teammate, Risk, and forced to help out with the charity weekend. That is how he meets the curvy and fascinating Stevie. But Stevie wants only Aaron. ................. ***** This is like reading two novels in one. Though Risk and Jacy are the main characters, Stevie and Zen are given almost as much time in the spotlight. But don't worry, this only means you are guaranteed to have something going on at all times. I found the secondary characters, the towns people, to be believable and lovable. Author Kate Angell definitely succeeded in letting the flavor of small town seep through. Highly enjoyable! *****
