A Phenomenal Beginning to A Promising Trilogy

What an amazing novel! I was hesitant to read it, as the pre-Occupation years were never of much interest to me, but that changed after this. While introducing many new characters ... and some that we heard of, perhaps saw in one episode or another 'ex. Kotan Pa'Dar, 'Cardassians' and Kubus Oak, 'The Collaborator'', this novel provided an interesting backstory to Dukat. The reader is also given an interesting explanation as to how the Cardassians came to occupy Bajor, what motives were involved, and how it was achieved. The reader is given many viewpoints of all involved ... including life in secular, pre-Occupation Bajor. It was quite a good DS9 novel, and did the series proud. I'm eagerly awaiting the other two books in this trilogy, and the DS9 novels in the relaunch series.
