    The Trilogy That Never Was

IMHO, this is (for the Star Wars Fanboy At least) the definitive Prequel Trilogy. Labyrinth Of Evil, and Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader are pure genius Star Wars stories. James Luceno "gets" Star Wars. And I don't mean in the George Lucas get kind of way ("Star Wars is for children yada, yada, yada"). Only a handful of authors are able to take a licensed property and in my opinion, show more respect to the material than the creator of said material does. The two stories fall in line with "Revenge of the Sith seamlessly.

"Labyrinth Of Evil's" true genius is the underpinnings of The Jedi Council coming that much more closer to figuring out the mystery of the Sith and sets up perfectly why Sidious/Palpatine is in full swing in "Revenge Of The Sith". The Kidnapping of Palpatine by Grievous and subsequent chase through Corusant's Public transportation system is one of the BEST chase sequences ever written. Obiwan & Anakin being called from the Outer Rim territories to rescue Palpatine is also a nice setup for ROTS.

There is not enough space here to talk about all the great things that "Dark Lord: The Rise Of Darth Vader" accomplishes. It is THE Best Star Wars story I have ever read. Period. It delivers on all fronts. Action, drama, intrigue, emotional connections. This Story has it all. Honestly, I bought and read this book when it initially came out before they put it in this Trilogy Omnibus. And I have sense read it about ten more times. This Trilogy will not disappoint.

    Worth it.

Completely worth the buy. Even seeing the movie countless times, Revenge of the Sith was a great read that added so much to the story.
