I have always liked this story in movie form, but reading it in book form was very enjoyable too--maybe even more so. Anakin has grown up from the small nine-year-old boy on Tatooine. He is arrogant and humorous, and loves the senator, Padmé Amidala. This book talks more about things that didn't happen in the movie, and the tragic, forbidden love story of Anakin and Padmé is explored more. This book was well-written, and I know it is one I will reread in the future. I especially liked the concluding sentence of the book.

the most unconvincing writing I've ever read

If I thought the lines in the movie were bad, the ones in the book are even worse. The love story is totally unconvincing. The characters aren't even one-sided, they have no personality at all. All the emotions are forced and resemble something that third-rate soap operas have rejected. However, if you are looking for a good laugh, I recommend you to get this book. Read about Anakin Skywalker "reaching into the Force and feeling the SENSATION that he has come to identify as his Jedi master." Ooooohhh-kay...Definitely the funniest comedy book of the year.

    You call this literature?

About as subtle as a train wreck. Gee, I suppose everyone 4 years from now will be utterly shocked and astounded that it was Palpatine who duped the entire Jedi council to become emperor. Strong the force is, but not in pop culture schlock like this.
