A new group of Sith arguably more fascinating than any yet conceived, yet another plot to destroy the Jedi -- and this time not from a Sith Lord -- gut-wrenching insights into the fall of a noble Jedi Knight, a mysterious illness that threatens to overrun the Jedi Order, and a deepening bond between father and son and Master and Apprentice that is worthy of the name Skywalker, formulate a plot thicker than the musty air of the Sith planet Ziost, that keeps on rolling and refuses to stop.
Christie Golden, a newcomer to the Star Wars galaxy, has proven that she is a more than welcome addition to our universe of authors. Excellent, brilliant work that does her much credit.Show Less

The Fate of the Jedi Draws Nearer
This novel is the very definition of the phrase "the plots thickens". Just when you thought Star Wars couldn't get any more fast-paced and exciting, Omen rips through history and blasts into the future.

New Life
This 2nd book breathes new life once again into this great story in the Stars. Endless story lines can come from this new front in the battle for the universe with new characters and old foes once again at full strength. The Sith world is a welcomed suprise, enjoy, I know I did.

Awesome Book
I got this book expecting a lot after Outcast. It filled all my expectations and more. I couldn't put this book down. I'm stoked for the next book in the series.

enjoyable entry
The Galactic Alliance and the Order of the Jedi have their home base on Coruscant existing in an uneasy peace. The leader of the Alliance government Chief of State Natasi Daala wants the Jedi under her control. The Jedi are giving her plenty of ammunition that enables her to paint them in a bad light. Three of the Knights went insane performing unacceptable inexplicable acts that have led to being frozen in carbonite. One of the fallen was able to see the future ( called flow-walking) enabling a person to make counter moves against an "adversary".
This is a unique part of the force that previously was known by only the late Jacen Solo, who became Darth Caedus when he turned to the dark side killing millions as a Sith Lord. Luke Skywalker and his son Ben continue seeking Jacen's secrets, which leads them to isolated xenophobic Aing-Tii. Luke is banned from Coruscant for a decade or when he learns how and why Jacen's turn to the dark. Luke and Ben travel to the planet seeking clues of why Jacen turned evil. With a civil war imminent, the Aing-Tii allow father and son on the orb. Meanwhile the Sith are near extinct and those few survivors are in hiding except for a group that crashed on Kesh a millennia ago. A ship arrives giving them access once again to the stars and the ability to take it to their enemies, the Alliance and the Order.
The second of nine books in this Star Wars arc (see OUTCAST) takes place obviously after Vader and the Sith were defeated. Peace in our time seems shaky as the two prime groups distrust one another and ambitious Daala sees an opportunity to size more power as people are once again disenchanted with the Jedi due to Caedus and now crazed Knights. Christie Golden moves from Star Trek to Star Wars with this solid entry that does not move forward the big picture, but instead sets up several major subplots for the overarching saga; making OMEN a more critical read to followers than OUTCAST.

Since the Vong War, This is NOT your Fathers Star Wars.
I have been following Starwars novels since "The New Jedi Order". Imaginative. Great Work from all the writters, and ofcourse, Shelly S. The Force has been developed into a mind bending exercise - even for "Force sensitive" the readers. "The Fate of the Jedi", even more so has developed facets of the Force not fortold.

Good storytelling
Christie Golden was a really good choice to write for the Star Wars universe. I realy enjoyed the parts with Han, Leia, and their new granddaughter, Alanna.

This one was cool!
I ordered them on line and couldn't wait for the books to be delivered. Each book is getting better and more interesting. It seems to explain alot more about Jacen's travels.

Simply Great
I really enjoy this new piece of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. I spend many hours on the road and this series keeps me entertained, and awake! My son also enjoys listening to the stories after I have finished the CDs. These audiobooks are more than just books, they are quality productions. I recommend these audiobooks to any Star Wars fan.

A Galactic Adventure.
I found this book to be very well written and it was a huge joy to read. I highly enjoyed the aspect of the sith being around for a few years and nobody knew about it until at the end of this book. All the characters were great and i love the smartass remarks and alot of the characters throw at one another. I highly recommend this book to any star wars fan or sci fi fan.

Reading is a new hobby of mine, and this was a fast, fun, exciting and quick read. I'm excited to get into abyss as i was excited to read this one, and kinda bummed that the 4th book doesn't come out til March.

Moves the story along...
All in all, I liked Omen and I recommend this book if you follow the star wars story line. This seemed like three stories in one but only two of the stories merged together in the end and even then, just barely. Like Outcast, Luke and Ben have good banter together and their story is very touching. The action on coruscant in the jedi temple is good and it leaves me guessing where that is going to go. What is new in this book is the story of the lost tribe of the sith, which is like reading a story from the old republic, like the darth bane series. I'm curious to see how all this plays out in the books to come.

A Very Weak Entry into the SW Universe
This book was a big disappointment for me. I know that multiple author, long running series must be difficult to manage, but a book needs to at least drive the storyline further somewhat. This one really failed to do that. Do you need to read this book to understand the 3rd book in the series? No, and that's the real shame of it. Save your money and skip this lackluster book entirely.

Can't Wait for the Next One
I cannot not wait until Abyss comes out. I really like this series. Definately enjoyed Christie Golden's first Star Wars novel. She fits right in. My only complaint is the last two books were so SHORT. I would love it if they were longer.
