Extrordinarally Spectacular book

This book is one of the most spectacular Star Wars books I have ever read. I think It is important for people to read this book to understand Jabba's Palace a little more. I liked the movie better after I read this book.

Tales from Jabbas Palace was an interesting book. It was full of stories that were each different but all followed the same
basic scenes from Return of the Jedi. I originally thought that this book was worthy of a four star rating but
the last 5 or 6 stories were truly just boring, took to long, or were just to short. Heres all of the stories and
what I thought about each one.

1.  A boy and his Monster: The Rancor Keepers Tale:   A good way to start the book. Very interesting.

2.  Tasters Choice: the Tale of Jabbas Chef:   An interesting take on a character we never really got to see

3.  Thats Entertainment: the Tale of Salacious Crumb:   Slightly confusing in the beginning but ends well.

4.  A time to Mourn: A time to Dance: Oola's Tale:  If it wasn't for Luke Skywalker this story would have been incredibly boring.

5.  Let us Prey: the Whipids Tale: Sort of dull and confusing.

6.  Sleight of Hand: The Tale of Mara Jade: EXCELLENT!!!! Now this is STAR WARS!!!!!!!

7.  And the there were some: the Gamorrean Guards Tale: Boring and sad.

8.  Old Friends: Ephant Mons Tale:  Not bad. A different take on the story that we all know

9.  Goat Grass: the Tale of Ree-Yees:  I did not really care for this story but others have told me they like it so you be the judge.

10. And the Band Played on: The Bands Tale: I really liked this story. It was interesting and fun.

11. Of the Days Annoyances: Bib Fortunas Tale: Started a little slow but ended up being one of my favorite stories.

12. The Great God Quay: The tale of Brada and the Weequays: Did not care for it all.

13.  A bad feeling: the Tale of EV-9D9: AWFUL! BORING! TERRIBLE! WPRST STORY IN THE BOOK!!!!

14.  A free Quaren in the Palace: Tessek's Tale: Better than I thought it would be.

15.  Tongue-Tied: Bubos Tale: Short, Sweet, Simple, Got to the point.

16.  Out of the Closet: The Assassin's Tale: Boring, Dry, Dull, Awful.

17.  Sharaa and the Sarlacc: The Skiff Guards Tale: Boring. Not memorable at all.

18.  A Barve Like That: The Tale of Bobba Fett: I had really high expectations for this one and was let down. SO BORING!

19.  Skin Deep: The Fat Dancers Tale:  WAY TO LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BORING!!!!!!!!!! A STORY ABOUT SOME FAT 6 BOOB DANCER SHOULD NOT BE 44 PAGES LONG! ( which is long in this book)

Well there you go. Overall I would recommend this book. It has its highs and lows but overall is a book worth reading.

What the fat slug didn't notice

These stories are really good; this is just as strong a collection as Tales from Mos Eisley. It also has the same drawback: there is some repetition and overlap (though not as bad as in Mos Eisley). It will amaze you that so much was going on under Jabba's nose. The best stories are the EV-9D9 story, Boba Fett's story, and Mara Jade's story (by Zahn, of course). Worth a read, especially since the whole 'Tales from...' thing has since gotten out of hand. I'm sure it won't be long before we get 'Tales from Mos Espa' and 'Tales from the Jedi Temple.'

    Great Back Stories

Star Wars Tales From Jabba's Palace is a great compilation of short stories from various authors. Kevin J. Anderson edits this book and does a good job of it. The stories take place at various times ranging from when life in the palace was normal to the time Luke Skywalker and his friends turned the place into an uproar. There are really good back stories for characters that are unmissable in Jabba's court and for those whom you see on screen in Star Wars VI for barley a moment. An altogether fun and entertaining novel that's pretty easy to read, thanks to it's being broken into nineteen stories.

    I Also Recommend:

What happens in Jabba's palace stays in Jabba's palace!

I love short stories even though some of these stories are a little too short.Tale's From Jabba's Palace has a central plot of unsolved murders occuring in the palace as each individual writer spins off each other's story. I find the stories more toward the end to be some of the better stories, especially the Bib Fortuna and Boba Fett stories. The Assassians tale is a great one as well!
