Better than the Star Wars movies
Despite typographical (actually not typeset, but penned) errors on almost every 5th page, these stories have three-dimensional characters and deftly cover the range of issues that face Jedi Knights. Everything in this story arc -- from the interpersonal relationships to the weapons to the dialogue -- is SO MUCH richer, more logical and more satisfying than the Star Wars films. These comics have a wonderful rhythm: even minor characters are completely understandable and fleshed out in just a few frames, yet dramatic tension and surprise come at appropriate times (in complete contrast to ¿Phantom Menace¿ and ¿Attack of the Clones¿). This particular book introduces us to Nomi Sunrider, who will come to be the most successful defender of the ¿Light¿ side of the Force until Luke Sywalker. Why wasn¿t the example of Nomi given to Anakin? (Methinks because George Lucas might have wanted the non-comic-reading world to forget that he let so many of the good ideas get used up in this story arc!)Was this review helpful?
