Is Sally ready for her big move?
Starring Sally J. Freedman as herself by Judy Blume is a fictional book. I really liked this book because it kept me guessing about how the main character, Sally is going to resolve the conflict. The setting of this book is a few years after WW2 in Miami Beach, Florida. the major conflict of the book is that WW2 has just ended and Sally and her family move to Miami Beach. Sally thinks she won¿t make any friends and she thinks that her new neighbor is Hilter in disguise who retired to Miami Beach! Sally also can¿t get used to her dad living in New Jersey without her. Sally soon finds out if her neighbor is really Hilter or not. Besides Sally missing her friends and family in New Jersey she has other things on her mind. I think that Judy Blume is a great author. She writes in the third person point of view. In this book she doesn¿t use big words. Other books by her are also mostly fiction with young characters. I would recommend this book if you like younger characters and books that you can¿t stop reading. I think this is a great book for ages 10 and up and you learn what it was like for sally growing up after WW2.

A Tale with an Overactive Imagination
¿Doey-bird, why do we have to move?¿ Sally asked. She looked clearly upset, and so did her brother, Douglas, who was standing next to her. Sally is a character in Judy Blume¿s book, Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself. ¿Douglas needs the sun to get over his kidney infection, Sally. It¿s not permanent either, only until summer,¿ answered Doey-bird, Sally¿s father. Sally trudged over to her father. She climbed into his lap and whined, ¿It¿s not fair.¿ Sally had learned that she, her father, her mother, Douglas, and Ma Fanny (her grandmother) were moving to Florida. They were going to live there from October until the summer. Since Sally¿s family was Jewish, they had recently celebrated the end of World War 2. Unfortunately, two of Sally¿s relatives died in the war. This book is about Sally¿s life in Miami, Florida. She makes friends with children in her apartment and at school two of them are Andrea and Barbara. Her imagination is huge, so when Sally discovers that a man that looks like Hitler lives in her apartment, she has many ideas about what to do. To pass the time, Sally makes up stories in her head, and keeps in touch with her father, who is still working in New Jersey, which is where her real house is. Sally¿s move to Florida means big changes for her in this thrilling book. The most interesting parts of this book were in the middle. All of the characters were introduced, so that was when the action started happening. An example of this is when Sally is stung by a Man-O-War. Judy Blume makes you want to read on to find out what will occur next. Another thing I thought made the book exciting were the stories Sally made up in her head. She almost always killed Hitler in her stories, and the fact that it would never happen in real life made it humorous. Overall, I think the book was just okay. The story was entertaining, but there weren¿t too many details about the setting, which I would¿ve wanted to hear about. Sally¿s overactive imagination was what I enjoyed most in this book. Even though I thought this book wasn¿t the greatest, I would definitely recommend it to many people. Those in elementary school would care for this book more than I did. Sally has quite an overactive imagination, which means numerous children can relate to her. Also, anyone who vacations in Florida would be interested to read about what it was like back in the 1940s, which is when this book takes place. Those that like a story about mischief and hilarious adventures would enjoy this book as well because there are many times when Sally makes you want to laugh out loud. If you are looking for a decent book to read, Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself is for you.

The most amazing book ever!!!!!!!!!!
When Sally moves to Florida she has some great adventures. She hears tales, mkes friends, has fights, but, really want's to see her dad who is staying in New Jersey, but her parents aren't divorced. She rewrites the whole world as if she were the star. Love at first sight, and then gone tomorrow. Sally goes through a time of great dispare and a troubleing way of mind. Who knows maybe Sally will be a famous detective or that movie star, but, as of right now she is still trying to figure the world out one step at a time.

FUNNY!
This book is amazingly good by the best selling author Judy Blume. Sally must go to Miami because of her brother's health. Sounds fun right? WRONG! Sally hates it there. She has to share a apartment with 2 other people, make new friends, & leave her dad which she calls ' Doey-Bird' because he can whistle like a bird. But in the end, Sally finds that Miami can be full of suprises. A great book!

This is a Great Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really liked 'Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself'. I think this book is cool and funny because Sally Freedman, the main character, has a very creative mind. You can tell because she thinks Adolph Hitler is in disguise as a Jewish man in Miami, Florida. It is also funny because Sally¿s family believes in good luck and Sally likes to listens to other people¿s conversation on their party line telephone. Sally moves from New Jersey to Florida because her brother has a kidney infection and the move would be good for his health. I prefer the part of this book when she is in Florida, which is most of the book. A lot of things happen to Sally, like her first kiss and helping her teacher paint the bathroom. I like it when Sally writes to her dad, Doey-Bird. I think it is sweet because her dad is still in New Jersey and she misses him. I also enjoy it when she makes up stories in her head. She is very creative. I think a lot of young people would like to read this book because they will find it interesting and entertaining. I recommend 'Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself', for ages 10 trough 12 because it contains some mild language.

strange perspective
this book took me a little more time to read than most others i'm guessing because it was kind of boring. the person that the narrator is describing is very nosy and naive, not that i'm spoiling anything important but she listens in on people's phone calls that are on her party line!! then this little girl is sooo into her idea that her next door neighbor is hitler that she comes up with things bad about him when he's not even doing anything wrong!! if she was real i wouldn't like this girl the way she gets into everyone's business. she does have a good point though that no one ever tells her anything, but still that is no excuse to listen in on other people's PRIVATE phone calls. this book is not one of my favorites of judy blume's, but don't give up on her, the others are better...

Amazing!
After moving to Miami to improve her brother's health, Sally J. Freedman finds friends, experiences her first kiss, and 'finds' Hitler. In the eyes of an American Jew, the characters merge together to create a wonderful story. I recommend this book to all readers.

Imagination runs
For me the book Sally J. Freemen is a great book for children that have wild imaginations. When Sally was a ten-years-old, she was away from dad and her home. While away, her imagination ran wild creating many interesting stories that kept her company.

Starring Sally J. Freedman As Herself
I love love love this book. It had an amazing point of view, and very funny but serious about growing up Sally was very interested in Hitler. This book was hilarious and I would reccomend it for the ages of 9-11.

This is a funny book
Okay, I personally think of it as a funny book. Not when her brother gets sick, but when Sally is just being herself, trying new things. She's trying to make sure she can be adventurous like Douglas, but never realizes that she IS adventurous. She likes new people (once she knows they like her) What else could you ask for out of Miss Judy Blume, she's already a pure genuis.DUH!!

Ready or not here comes Sally J. Freedman
This is by far one of my favorite Judy Blume books ever written. It teaches you to be opinionated and outgoing. Although every other Judy Blume books has a lesson, this book teaches you to be you.

My Fav Book!
I love this book! It as action, drama, and some of comedy. It really shows how llife was for a girl in the war. I love the part when...well I love the whole thing. It was so sad when Omar died! What ever happened to Sally in the end? Did she ever move back to New Jersey? Was it sad? I don't know, but I would like to go. To sum the book up- Girl dreams of having a 'Latin lover' while still worrying about about Hitler coming and taking her away.
