Best YET!
I've read other novels by this author. But this is the best story yet. Now this author is unusual in that she will retire her heroines so that they can have a rest from the turbulence of their fictional lives. This story is a swords & sorcery novel with a woman that calls to the inner doubts of all of us. I wasn't able to put this story down. In fact, when I get home tonight I'm going to re-read it. You'll love it, too. If you like Butcher, Harris, Kenyon, and Lackey, you'll love this novel.

One of my favorites!
I cant even tell you how many times I have read this book, but every time I pick it up its like the first time. When I first read it I was unsure of my feelings for it but I grew to love the charcters. The relationship between the two protagonists is really very beautiful and draws you into their world and culture. One warning and complaint, there are a few random and hideously done illistrations. Avoid them. I have infact put post it notes in my paper copy to avoid looking at them. There are really only three but they shatter the illusion of beautiful characters. This in no way is a reason not to read this book however. Hurry up with the sequal Lilith!

Wonderful!
I really enjoyed Steelflower, far removed from the typical vampire, werewolf, or zombie plots. A wonderful fantasy plot, I cannot wait the remainder of the series. :)

Awesome
I'm not sure how I came across this book, but I am so glad I did. This is my first time reading a Lilith Saintcrow book, and I doubt it will be my last. I was really impressed with Steelflower.
The main character, Kaia, is a strong, independent and fully capable woman. She has some emotional issues, but considering her past that is to be expected. She comes across many different people during this story, and Saintcrow does a great job of describing them.
I very much recommend this one. The only flaw is that there isn't a continuation! The ending leaves so many questions; what happens to the group, what will Rikrik do, what happens with Kaia and her troupe. I really hope that Saintcrow will publish book 2 soon, because my curiosity is killing me.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

She does it again!
I am quickly buying all of her books, I love the storylines and the flawed charectors who end up making a family. Another great book. Not to mention the fighting!

Steelflower was very hard to read at times.
It was not a light read. If you do no like books that are sometimes hard to read, do to language barrier. Do not read this book. If their was a dictionary for the words I had to figure out on my own I might have like it better. The characters were discribed in such detail. The cities and towns were also. I do like this authur and that is why I read it.
