In Step Up, dance brings star-crossed lovers -- Nora (Jenna Dewan), a classically trained dancer, and Tyler (Channing Tatum), a street dancer from the wrong side of Baltimore's tracks -- together. Appropriately, the soundtrack features a bevy of body-movin' hip-hop and R&B tracks. Highlights includes Young Joc's "Bout It," Kelis's "80s Joint," and Sean Paul's…  See more details below

Dance songs doesn't have to be upbeat all the time.It is anything that you can dance through your emotions, be it fast, loud, upbeat or slow. And this album got it all. The best song in this package is "Dear Life".Though wasn't danced in the movie Step up,where the scene was,Tyler(Channing) was just standing in a balcony ,this song was very touching where the main message is "I became somebody through loving you..." That's exactly what the story is all about.Tyler, who grew up on a wrong side of Baltimore was loved and driven by a privileged Nora to fulfill his dreams in which he is very good at, dancing. It is so good to find a soundtrack where it exactly fits the movie's story.Meanwhile, next on the list is "'Til dawn", of course.Very fresh. And once heard, for sure,if you are not a dancer, you'll dance this time.It was danced on a party house in the movie, where it was properly choreographed. Cute actually. Simple but cute.Give it a shot for "Give me the money" track. The third best on this album. This one is upbeat. I am not a musician, but I think violin is very much present on this track. I'm not sure but I hope somebody could check it out for me.If I'm not mistaken, this was played at the beginning of the movie.Of course "Get Up" by Ciara is one of the best list, too. Even the video was great.Choreography there was fresh and creatively performed.Have you seen the scene where Tyler and Nora danced at the tower,(was that a tower?I'm not really sure..)The song played there was "U must be".It was danced as if Nora was just like feather in weight. She was lifted easily by Tyler making the song even more relaxing. It was like an simple love song if you'll think at first, but if you'll dance along w/ it, it's no ordinary. Those were the top five best songs in this album for me. And the rest not mentioned doesn't mean not good. The rest are just as great.I've listened every single one of 'em. The mentioned tracks were my personal favorites. Again, this album,is packed w/ all great dance songs in one.Five stars for that!!!
