frenetically crazy as ever
Mr. Grande of the Mierde Cartel hires the Russian Mafioso to recover the five million drug dollars that Serge A. Storms and his almost as wacky partner Lenny Lippowics stole and stashed in the Hammerhead Ranch Motel that no longer stands due to a hurricane. Though killing is like apple pie for Serge, the former KGB agents do a good job of eliminating themselves in the nearby swamps without his assistance. Though he does not have time to fool around if he wants to enjoy his new hobby trains, Serge makes time to insure one of the Russians dies from a hole in one. He also rids himself of some pesky frat idiots for defacing his beloved train, the Rambler. Still the Russians are coming again and chase Serge to Times Square for the ball to drop. On whose head is now the question as now the Cosa Nostra and Jamaicans join the fray that frantically ends up on a murder mystery ride aboard the Silver Stingray heading to Florida. As frenetically crazy as ever, THE STINGRAY SHUFFLE is a wild ride up and down the East Coast with the usual high homicide count, several in amusing ways. The story line moves at a rapid pace with lunatics at every stop seeking the suitcase of loot. Serge is as wacko as ever so that readers receive his usual feral trip and his support cast seems more like escapees from an asylum. Tim Dorsey has written another delightfully hectic spin that fans will enjoy, but insist he go decaf in the future so one can catch a breath or two. Harriet Klausner

How Spent Last Summer In Florida and why i need a Vacation.
The time traveling plot lines of Dorseys novels have come full circle to the finaly(or is it?) of the 5 million every low life in the sunshine state seems to have had and lost and will stop at nothing to have it again. Readers of Dorsey's books will be very satisfied with the pace and frenzy with which this humorous and exciting novel reads. Never a dull moment,many times leaving the reader laughing out loud,wondering 'How does he come up with this stuff?'. As with all of Dorsey's novels,there is no lack of seemingly unrelated characters and random events that always find thier way brillianty into the inevitable 'mexican standoff' style endings. I have never ceased to be amazed how Dorsey pulls this off without the reader seeing it coming. One cant help but wonder how Dorsey will top his last effort,but he always does. Tim Dorsey writes about Florida with such first hand expirence that even mundane events such as a ride to the convienence store leave you feeling like you are in the back seat watching as the buildings fly by.

Love it. A great read.
Took a chance with Tim Dorsey and the Serge Storm series. It is absolutely entertaining. They get better with each one. I am not a big reader but this guys rocks it.

I LOVE these series of books...so fast paced, twists and turns and the best characters you can imagine

Not Bad--some pretty good parts
Overall I liked the book, and will probably look for other titles by Dorsey. But...it's not Carl Hiaasen. Nevertheless, a fairly mindless vacation read to pass the time.

Not as good as the rest of Dorsey's works
Well, being the big Tim Dorsey fan that I am, I had to run right out and buy this book the first day it was available, but I was really disappointed when reading it. It didn't have that 'laugh out loud' quality that I've liked in Dorsey's other works. Having been on Amtrak's Silver Meteor too many times, there were just too many impossibilities in the book.
