What a beautifully written book. This is NOT in the same vein as Ms. Richmonde's Pearl series so don't go expecting a contemporary romance. This is a family drama that turns into a full-scale suspense story that will have you on the edge of your seat. It is written from three POVs. Sylvia, the wife. Tommy, the husband, and five-tear-old Grace, their adopted daughter. You may think this wouldn't work but her POV is the best thing about the story and it is simply wonderful. I couldn't put this book down. It is evocative and very descriptive, too with a lot of emotion. It does have a HEA but it is somewhat of a roller coaster ride to get there. Definitely read this novel; you won't regret it.

This book received a lot of great reviews, and I like suspense/thrillers, but I quickly found myself having to force my way through it. If you don't mind a LOT of unnecessary foul language and graphic sex scenes, you'll be ok with this book. The plot was interesting with all of it's intricasies, I really felt it a shame there was so much unnecessary (in my opinion) content. The scenes with the priest were beyond disturbing, and again, I felt very unnecessary. I know these things may not bother a lot of readers, but I wish some had left reviews that would have let me know the book contained a lot of this type of content. So, I'm leaving this review for readers like myself. I'm not one to give up on a book, so I saw this through, but was never so glad to finish a book. I know an author puts a lot of work into a book, and no one likes to have someone say their work isn't good, but this one requires a disclaimer - it will be disturbing to many readers.

Another winner for Ms Richmonde, following the success of her Pearl series. Although I must say, this book is nothing like Pearl!!

This is a thriller and it certainly put me on the edge of my seat. The triple POV worked well, unusual but definitely worthwhile. I love the way Ms Richmond writes her characters so that I totally "get" them. At times, I wanted to punch Tommy right in the face!!

Well edited as per usual, no repetitive writing, great cover, flowed nicely...all in all a very well presented book
