No One Said it was Steve Vai...

Sure the guitar playing is loud, it's rock 'n roll. If you wanted the mellow moods of Hall & Oates like the last reviewer, than I would avoid it. And yes, it may not be the most technically proficient playing, but considering the style of the music, it fits perfectly. Listen to early Kinks sides, they could barely play! When all is said and done, this album is nothing amazingly essential, it's all been done before and, quite frankly, better elsewhere. I do guarantee that it will blast from my car speakers for most of the summer. It's a singalongable bunch of poppy rock n roll songs with some catchy as hell organ and great backing vox. Can anything get better than that?

    Lighten up, dude!

Yes, it sounds like a sloppy 60's garage band. That's the point! And it sounds even better with repeated listenings! And it will make you go find and listen to your old vinyl records of the Kinks and the Yardbirds! (Fess up -- you still have a few!) This is the "feel good" CD of the summer! Buy it and enjoy! My 12 year old daughter, who likes to make fun of her dad's "old school" taste in music, LOVES this CD! Hey! The kid's got taste after all! And the fact that it's really Green Day, doing a "Traveling Wilburys" schtick, makes it all the more fun!

    Wow

First they went from the real punk stuff like Kerplunk, Dookie, etc., to American Idiot and now this. It really just shows how versatile these guys are. I loved this album, it's true classic rock, something that they would play on 102.5.

    A reviewer

guitar playing is poor and loud. I found the entire cd annoying. Do your ears a favor and stay away from this one.
