Great Read

Another home run for Richard Castle. Keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. There are some odd typos but it doesn't distill the overall quality of the book. I definetly reccomend reading this book. -Alfredo

This was a pretty good action novel. This guy is a little unbelievable but still the story keeps one entertained and that's the whole idea. I kind of like Derrick Storm.

    Respectable

As Castle books go this was just alright. It took a long time to establish the characters and the premise of the plot. Of course the "good guy" wins, but there are a lot of unanswered questions.

From a person who has read the entire Nikki Heat collection and

From a person who has read the entire Nikki Heat collection and loved them, this book was a disappointment.  Simply "OK".

The references to the Castle TV show characters are too cute, too obvious and too numerous.

A political liberal bias is unnecessarily scattered throughout the story.  ie: Two Republicans are painted ad nauseam in a terribly negative light while the one Democrat is referred to as "one of the smartest people in DC".  If you are liberal or don't care about this stuff then this won't matter at all to you.  But that alone was enough to make me decide not to buy the next book. (if there is another one)

The book couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a serious thriller (like the Nikki Heat series) or a campy, James Bond (Roger Moore era) wannabe.  Yes, there actually is a beautiful Chinese Secret agent named "She Bang"...

If you are a Castle (Nathan Fillion) fan then you will enjoy this book if only because of it's connection with that show.  But don't expect it to be as good as the Nikki Heat series.

And if you are a conservative, then be prepared to be ridiculed by Hollywood.  Again...
