    Engaging Read

Once you start this book, you won't want to put it down.

I loved Lisa Renee Jones' Harlequin Blaze books. When I got the chance to read this book, I jumped. I'm glad I did. Ms. Jones' writing flows and buoys the reader from scene to scene. I needed to know what was going to happen next and how it would work out. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, Ms. Jones threw me a curve ball that completely worked for the story. I stayed up way too late and read furiously. It was worth it!

The plot is deliciously layered and complicated. This isn't the kind of book you'd put down and walk away from. Why? Coming back, you'd need to do some heavy re-reading. That's not a bad thing. I read this book over and over. Just keep in mind, to keep the plot twists and characters straight, a straight-through read is recommended.

Rebecca is a sweet character. An astrobiologist, she's darned smart. She's also got a deadly disease--cancer. Readers can relate to her struggle. She wants to be well, but she wants to help people. And then there's the slight distraction of Sterling. I'm telling you, if I had a Sterling of my own to save me...I'd jump on him. Yeah, he's that super sexy, soldier, can kick your butt type of guy I can't get enough of. The motivations in the book aren't always disclosed right away and it works so well. I didn't want to know everything up front. I wanted the story to slowy unfold and Ms. Jones did it just right.

If you want a book with the right amounts of action, suspense, and engaging characters, then this book is one not to miss!

    An excellent read

    Contemporary, Texas and Las Vegas

Rebecca "Becca" Burns is a scientist that just might be the only one that can help the super-soldiers known as The Renegades against other super-soldiers knows as the Zodius. Becca has just come back from Germany where she was undergoing treatments to save her life. Returning home she finds on her doorstep the very last person she ever expected to see, Sterling Jeter.

Sterling Jeter is of the Renegades and he also knows Becca from when they were teens in Texas. Now he has to find a way to convince Becca to help the Renegades get a new drug off the streets. Sterling has always been one to act first and question later, but he is finding that with Becca he is more inclined to question first before acting. He isn't sure that is such a good thing because the Zodius are after Becca and it will take everything he has to protect her and keep her safe.

Becca has been given the new drug and she is now finding out that she has some new powerful abilities and that the only way she has a chance to control them is to stay with Sterling. Becca is going to have to decide if she can trust him because if she can't she is in a lot more trouble than she first thought. Sterling knows this is a second chance with Becca he never thought he would have and he isn't about to loose this chance or her to either death or the Zodius. Sterling will do anything and everything to keep Becca in his life because he is finding out that he doesn't have a life without her. Sterling is determined that this time he going to let anything stand in his way to the one person that can make his life complete.

This is the second book in the Zodius series and it lives up to the promise of the first book. The action is fact and non-stop and the story will pull the reader in and won't let go until the very last page. While this story can be read as a stand alone it is greatly enhanced by the reader first reading the first book in the series. The characters are very believable and will have the reader hoping that everything works out for Sterling and Becca. The attention to detail really brings this story to life for the reader and pulls the reader into the story. The book will also have the reader eagerly awaiting the next one in this series and hating the wait that will ensue. This is one that should be picked up and read.

    Great Read

Enjoyed this book quite a bit. After Michael, it was predictable, but still didn't want to put it down.

Book 2 Just Keeps it Coming!!

Once again Lisa Renee Jones delivers another heart pounding story in her Zodius soldiers’ series. In book one readers learned of a new government plan that took ex special force soldiers and transformed them in to GTech soldiers. In book two she picks up where she left out going further into the fight between the Renegades and their enemies that seem to be growing as they weed out Adam, their biggest threat. The interaction between Sterling and Becca are so real you feel the struggle they share between themselves and the lives they chose to live. Their interactions with the characters around are a key to understanding the story as Lisa leaves small details within the story for the reader to piece together and try to solve the mystery. Only one problem, she keeps the twists and turns coming allowing you to stay on the edge of your seat as you read. The Storm that is Sterling is a great second book to her new series and I’m impatiently waiting to see what the Danger that is Damion brings to the table. I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy the Zodius world like I have.

    Review by Book Monster Reviews

    Carla's Review

When I read the first book, "The Legend of Michael", I could not put it down until I finished the book and "The Storm That Is Sterling" was no different. It's another action packed, rollercoaster ride of emotions and twists that keeps you hooked until the very last page.
Sterling is a cocky and dedicated soldier to the GTECH Renegades. All of his family passed away and the only family he has now are his friends, the other GTECH Renegades. Sterling and the other Renegades will risk everything to keep Adam and his Zodius soldiers from trying to take over the world.

Rebecca is the daughter and sister of men that were in the military so she's weary of living a life full of worry like her mother had. She's a strong willed and independent woman who is used to handling her business on her own. She's also a very prominent NASA astrobiologist, and the Renegade's only hope of coming up with a cure for ICE, the very addictive and lethal drug Adam is selling on the streets.

Sterling and Rebecca first met back when they were in high school. Sterling asked Rebecca out on a date but he was never able to show up and then disappeared. Rebecca comes home one day to find Sterling on her front porch. While Sterling is explaining to Rebecca that he needs her help, they are attacked by Adam's men and both kidnapped. Adam wants to control Rebecca and force her to work for him, so he forces her to take ICE by threatening to kill Sterling. Taking ICE only one time will make her completely addicted to it and if one dose is missed, it will kill her.

Rebecca is very confused, as she does not know who to trust. Adam is trying to turn her against Sterling to get her on his side but she also feels a very strong connection and attraction to Sterling. I loved watching their relationship grow. Rebecca began to trust Sterling and Sterling began to trust himself. He feels that he is not good enough for Rebecca. You can feel their chemistry coming off the pages from their very first meeting back in high school.

So much happens in the storyline, and I don't want to spoil anything but it had me on the edge of the seat until the very end and I'm now clamoring for the next release, "The Danger That Is Damion".

Lisa Renee Jones is a very talented author who grabs you and wheels you in from the very first page. I definitely recommend checking out ALL of her books because they are all AMAZING stories.

I give "The Storm That Is Sterling" 5 Stars

The author has written a great series. Books can stand alone, but more fun if you read them in order. Very interesting characters.

    My Perfect Storm

The Storm that is Sterling takes us on a wild ride of love & lust, betrayal & trust, misunderstands and a very uncertain future. My Summary: The Storm that is Sterling is perfectly named and poor Sterling is in for the ride of his life. But let me back up a bit and give you a little history. The Storm that is Sterling is book 2 in Lisa Renee Jones Zodius series. Book 1 is The Legend of Michael (add review link at posting) in which we are introduced to the world of the Super Soldiers, soldiers who have been injected with an experimental Alien DNA. With this change in their DNA the soldiers are gifted with more strength, speed and other special gifts. Becoming a Super Solider comes with a great responsible to protect and keep the world safe. But not all of the soldiers are out to keep the world safe, some feel that it is their right to be better than others and therefore feel they should rule the world. The Storm that is Sterling When Sterling is asked by Cabel (his leader) to go get a scientist to help find a cure for ICE (their enemy's newest weapon to try to take over the world), his world is forever changed by two words. Rebecca Burns. Becca is the sweet, innocent, little future NASA scientist he was forced to walk away from fourteen years ago. When Sterling show up at Becca's house to ask for her help; everything falls apart. The next thing Sterling knows they are being attacked at all sides. The last thing Sterling remembers is handing Becca off to Damion his teammates only to see Damion hand Becca off to the enemy. When Sterling wakes he finds that he has been captured by his enemy also. Then he learns that his enemy has forever changed Becca's life by forcing her to become addicted to the very drug they were seeking her help to find a cure for. My thoughts: I really, really enjoyed Sterling and Becca's story. I have to admit that even while reading Michael's book I wanted to learn more about Sterling. So when Lisa gave me the opportunity to read The Strom that is Sterling there was no way I was going to say NO. Lisa did a great job of showing the struggle that Sterling goes through to realize what and who he needs in his life. Sterling is a man who has always thought that he didn't need people in his life. His motto was live life fast and hard, that was until Becca came back in his life. Only to learn that life has other plans for Becca. Becca on the other had has always had the support and love of a family, until death took them away. Not wanting to be a burdened to anyone with her health issues she runs away to hide. That is until Sterling walks back into her life Lisa sucked me back into the Zodius world with a heart wrenching story of a young love lost before it was ever explored, only to be found again under dire circumstances. And with time is quickly running out can these two find a way to save the world and each other A Huge Thank you to Lisa for allowing me to read Sterling. I enjoyed very, very much.

    A must read!

A unique thrilling ride through the world of super soldiers and the women that bring them to their knees.

Sterling is a soldier who has been injected with alien DNA to make him faster, stronger, and more resilient. He is now responsible for saving Rebecca Burns from the ruthless Adam Rain. While he is protecting her, they finally give it to the smoldering chemistry that they have been fighting. Will their love for one another be enough to save Rebecca when she lands in the enemies hands? You will just have to read and find out.

This was a fantastic read! Sterling is amazing and completely alpha. I fell in love with him during the prologue and liked him the whole way through. He is strong and sexy yet sweet and caring and loyal to the bone. Rebecca is the perfect women for him. She is so very brave and even though her situation would make a normal person fall apart, she doesn't, she stands her ground and continues fighting. The chemistry between the two of them sets the pages on fire. You can practically feel it while reading. This story starts off fast and doesn't let up. It sucks you in at the beginning and makes it impossible to put down. Ms Jones has done a fantastic job creating a unique and thrilling world that you can't help but enjoy. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for action, adventure, humor, sizzle, and emotion. This book had be laughing, crying and fanning myself and that is what makes it a must read.

Thank you Lisa for another fantastic story!!!
