Well this would be the extremely rare case of the second book in the series was better than the first. I could actually feel the pull towards Damon in this book. Yes, he's dark and dangerous. But, there's something else there as well. You don't know what it is, you can just feel it. Stefan is the brooding vampire. He's the right choice (if a vampire can be a "right" choice). And Elena loves him, but can't stay away from Damon. And she was much more likeable in this on. Funny what love can do (even to people in stories). The ending wasn't what I was expecting. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one to see where this story goes!

    Ugh

I havent even read the book yet, but my friend was telling me about it and it sounded SOOOOOOO lame. At least Twilight was original back in 2005. Everyones making these lame ripoffs of it now, when you look at teen books, all of them are teenagers with blood dripping out their mouth

Leave the books, watch the show. The show is amazing but these books suck. I was really disappointed when I read these books as I thought they would be as amazing as the show, but they weren't. I would never recommend this series to others. Do not buy these books if you are looking for something as amazing as the show. I recommend the books listed because they are actually interesting and good reads, unlike this book and all vampire diaries books. Also, the beautiful creatures is on sale!! Great movie and book, unlike this book.
