Struggle for the Middle Sea
This was part of the second world war that was mostly ignored. The naval engagements between the British and Italian navies were many and very interesting. There lack of radar in most cases led to much gunfire without any crippling hits. I strongly recomend this book to any Navy people regardless of their time of service. Was this review helpful? A balanced view
I am reading this now and am about halfway through. So far,it's a well-researched and balanced account. Most books I've read on this subject do not give much from the Italian point of view and skip the French altogether after July 1940. This book includes them as the Royal Navy had to deal with both of them during the actual events. The book seems to have a summary of nearly every action which took place in the Med. It's not always gripping reading but still very informative. What prompted me to write about it here was that it has a picture of the famous record-setting hit by Warspite on Cesare! I had not seen this before. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
