Glad I found it!
Found this while vacationing in NYC & it's a great read. Very well written; both entertaining and informative at the same time. As a frequent NYC visitor, I actually learned several valuable tid-bits (such as subway "pre-walking" and that the E train carries the most homeless <but harmless> people in the middle of the night). This great little book has enormous amounts of insider information that's hard to find anywhere else. Outside the city this may be found in the travel section, but it's WAY more than a mere travel book; it's a true INSIDER book.and a must have!

A great book to read.
I have recently purchased this book and I must say this book is great. I have enjoyed this book since I have brought it. I also recommened this book to every New Yorker who ride the subways.

Awesome book
I'm almost done reading this book but what I've read so far I've enjoyed. Just coming out of a NYC Folklore class, this book is so much into relation from what I learned in that class. I can relate to a good amount of the stories in here and I get a kick out of reading some of them. Some of the stories, I actually recognize the people that are in them. It's a great book to read while on the subway (as other people try to glance at the cover)and great to read in general. I recommend this to any NY'er that rides the subways and I'm sure they can share the sympathies with all the people mentioned.

A Gem of a Find
I came upon this book while browsing the travel section. This book is a gem of a colection of newspaper articles and observations about the New York City Subway.
