    A reviewer

I was disappointed when I read ¿The Summer of the Swans.¿ The actions and plot of the story wasn¿t that exciting. I have talked to peers and they say that they agree. The book just shows about a boy who gets lost in the woods. It becomes very boring right from the start and won¿t keep you interested for long. Throughout the story it becomes little by little more exciting, but not enough to get a higher ranking. Also, if the story is called the ¿Summer of the Swans,¿ then why do only three chapters have to do with swans? I would recommend it for people who have nothing better to do.

    Summer of the Swans

The Summer of The Swans I didn¿t like the book very much because of four things and it was very boring. For one thing in the beginning they didn¿t introduce the characters very well or tell the plot of the story. Also I thought that Aunt Willie was too strict because their mom just died and their dad only comes home on the weekends never less pay any attention to the kids. I did like how the characters changed over periods of time but I thought that the story took too long.

    A very boring book

rate the summer of the Swans by Betsy Byars two stars. I rate the book with two stars because I thought that the plot was very boring. The book starts out slow and it lacks action and suspense. The whole entire book takes place in one summer day. The only exciting part in the book is when Sara Godfrey's little brother Charlie gets lost. The story could have gone more in depth in talking about Sara and Charlie's dad. Betsy Byars could have written about why he left the family. Betsy Byars could have also made more exciting things happen to Charlie. For example, Charlie could have hit his head on a rock and fall into a stream while he was unconscious. This would have added action and a lot of suspense to the book. The Summer of the Swans is not a very long book. All of the suggestions I¿ve made can be smoothly added into the book. I don't see why Betsy Byars didn't make the book longer by adding details and more drama. To me, the book was very disappointing, but don't take my word for it. It's only one person's opinion.

Should you be responsible for your brother all the time?

The book I just finished reading was alright. It was nonfiction. The book was about a girl named Sara and she was 14 years old. This point in her life was confusing. Sometimes she thinks of flying away. Sara dosn't like to always have to be watching her brother Charlie. She sometimes gets tired of his neeedines. I thought the book was a litte interesting. Children aged 11-13 should read this book.
