I was so pleasantly surprised to dig into this story and find myself unable to put it down. You never know what you will get with a self-published book. The author manages to avoid the tired fantasy cliches and come up with something fresh and entertaining. I enjoyed the subtle sense of humor evident in some of the writing - it made the characters approachable and real to me. Yet there is also is also plenty of action and scary stuff to round out the tale.

First in a series of three, I believe. I'm devouring the next book "The White Fox" right now.

Current version is tidier-Author

Thanks for the feedback, guys, it is truly appreciated. It's prompted me to do a rigorous edit pass for the typos and also sorted a couple of small inconsistencies in the plot. Hopefully the current version is more tidy. This is the power of new technologies in action. ...
Thanks for the feedback, guys, it is truly appreciated. It's prompted me to do a rigorous edit pass for the typos and also sorted a couple of small inconsistencies in the plot. Hopefully the current version is more tidy. This is the power of new technologies in action. Nice. (Since I have to rate my own book to get this comment in I'm putting the current average in, seems the fairest approach).

    Good Read

Overall this is a pretty good book. The plot and storyline is infallible, really one of the best that I've read in a while. Character/story development is pretty good, although it felt a bit rushed. Still good though. The one thing that really got to me was the geography, with a book that has this much travelling in it I try to create a sort of mental map so I can "see" what's going on but I found it kind of hard with this book. It may help if the author could create a map for us as a reference tool. Overall very good, especially for a self published book.

    Hidden Jewel

I am so glad I came across this book, it really is a treasure. It is a little confusing at first, but stick with it, you'll be glad you did. It is a fantasy book for men and women. Plus, no elves!

    Interesting

A great plot. Was a little annoyed with the ending, it just stopped. Of course it was so that you go to the next book. I get that. But I did enjoy the plot and building the characters.

    A good read

Nog a bad read for anyone who likes an epic story ! This book reads alot like a C J Cherryh novel and although it is rather slow paced it still manages to keep you interested

    Everyone has their own opinion

i thought it was very good. thoough tnere be typoxs thats the way of life and no one is perfect and it does end suddenly but that is what makes a series successful.

    Wow! Dragons!

This book took me in almost immediately! While there have spots with incorrect words used, it did not slow the story down. Near the end, I found myself hoping for a different ending, but was pleasntly surprised! I have purchased the sequel and hope to enjoy it as much!
