I have been a fan of Will Shortz Sunday crossword books for the past few years. I've purchased the "75" puzzle books the last couple of times. I was glad to see these monster 200 books available. I'm usually only able to complete every 3rd one or so completely and correctly, even with the help of the net, but love the challenge none-the-less. When I saw Will's name associated with this one, I thought it would be the usual reasonably tough but doable fare. Holy Cow Batman!!! Don't know who this Eugene T Maleska is, but I'm sure he created these puzzles for the likes of Ken Jennings or other super brains! I frustratingly scratched and clawed my way to the 3rd puzzle before giving up on the book entirely and heading for the Volume 9 omnibus I bought at the same time (thank goodness!) This one is edited by my buddy Will and is what I expected from volume 6. Maybe the first 3 were just crazy, but I won't be going back to it until I finish the kinder, gentler volume 9. Although the description here says by Eugene T. Maleska, Will Shortz (editor) the book itself only has Eugene's name on it. I will watch for that detail the next time I purchase a puzzle book.
