Great book for all Grannys
"Super Granny" is a great source of excellent suggestions for age- appropriate and practical activities that provide fun, learning and lay the groundwork for a meaningful and loving relationship. A great book for granny's (and grandfathers) who don't want to depend on the amount of money spent to enjoy grand kids, but instead depend on imagination, and ingenuity by learning the many useful ideas shared in this insightful guide to being a generous and greatly appreciated grandparent. This book is a treasure of tips for giving every grandkid lasting experiences and valued memories. Good for any parent or caregiver who cares about kids. Grannys unite for more fun and playtime!

Super Granny
This beautifully-written book captures the shared experiences of grandmothers young and old, experienced and new, frightened and self-assured, and internationally located. It is written in language that is clear, at times humorous or serious, and is inspirational in its choice of examples of grandmotherly activities and ideas. Author Sally Wendkos Olds has travelled extensively, is a wonderful researcher and observer and knows what is important to convey to the reader. When I reached the end of the book I knew that even though it was over I would still be going back to it time after time for reassurance, projects, and suggestions.

This is a WONDERFUL book!
This is a great idea, very well executed. Having grandchildren is certainly fun, but everybody can use some help. This book is crammed full of terrific, inexpensive (sometimes free) ideas for things to do, things to make, ways to bond, etc. with grandchildren. It's realistic..the grandmothers who contributed are real people with real excperiences. I recommend it completely. A terrific gift for a new grandmother. She'll thank you; I guarantee it.

A Great Resource!
Okay, so I'm biased. My granddaughter, Michaela and I are featured in the chapter starting on page 159. Nevertheless, I think Sally did an outstanding job of coming up with a terrific concept and finding great information on how that concept works in actual practice! I grew up without grandparents (they had all died before I was born), so had to learn on-the-job, not only with Michaela, but with my other grandchildren. This book has given me all sorts of ideas on how to be a long-distance grandmother (most of my grandchildren live in other states), as well as fun things to do with Michaela and the other grandchildren when I do see them.
